Michael Ingmire: Woke Apathy

In America, we have a large public indifference to the evils of our current political structure. That apathy is quite dangerous. Our lack of attention to the crimes of our elected could prove fatal as these “leaders” place their own welfare above that of the American people. Through the past decades, if not centuries, we have considered the questionable or criminal behavior of our politicians to be the norm. Business as usual.
That is no longer acceptable. We are now inflicted with a double standard in the application of justice: A two-tiered system that detracts from our shared civil rights. The depreciation of the rule of law, that only protects the truly guilty. That protection extends to political crime dynasties. Two-tiered justice effects all and diminishes all.
The Hunter Biden plea deal is only one recent case in point in our news cycle. Hunter was accused of willfully avoiding the paying of Federal income taxes. Additionally, he was accused of being an unlawful possessor of a firearm during his substance abuse period. The mockingbird-media reports were that these were light-weight charges that rarely result in jail time. But as usual, our incompetent media serve up their agreed upon dose of lies and propaganda.
The unreported crime of this story is that, through an elaborate tax scheme, Hunter has allegedly earned millions of dollars, for himself and Papa Joe. Previously, Hunter Biden has proven himself to be an accomplished “party guy,” a purveyor of Russian hookers and an artistic dilettante. But his real talent is being the alleged advance man for Papa Joe’s sweetheart deals with countries like the Ukraine and China. Say what you want about Hunter’s demeanor or behavior; but he does have the gift for graft.
Joe’s definition of public service is having the public serve him. Looking at Joe’s public record; there is not much to be proud of. At least he is consistent in both his abhorrent behavior, towards women and children, and the building of the criminal empire that is the Biden family. Joe has never served the American people in any tangible manner, nor has he participated in a real day’s worth of honest behavior. There is no legislation, that bears his name, that has ever benefited the American people.
In regard to Federal Records Keeping violations, Joe Biden takes the prize. Recent discoveries indicate that Biden has improperly kept classified documents in unsafe and non-secure locations since his days as a Senator. Biden had no legal authority, either as a Senator or Vice-President, to declassify secured documents.
President Trump, in turn, under the authority given to him by the Presidential Records Act, had the right to declassify any document that he wished. President Trump was exercising his right, under the law, to determine what should be submitted to the National Archives. This is not a crime, like the scrubbing of 38,000 emails.
Two-tiered justice? You bet. Never saw the FBI raid any of Joe’s residences for the documents he has inappropriately kept. Right now, Trump also faces accusations, through New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg, flimsy accusations from a writer and a porn star. Neither of whose story really passes the smell test. The Florida records keeping trial is at least run by a Trump friendly Judge. The 37 indictments in Florida are laughable to any constitutional analyst. Yet, as this unprecedented persecution of Trump continues, his popularity continues to grow.
Like the cunning devils that they are, Washington continues to waste our time and money. We have “investigative” committees with representatives that behave like the Archbishops of Clown World. “Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing,” as Shakespeare wrote. The lack of evidence of real crimes on President Trump’s part insults the collective American intelligence. It is a blatant move to keep Trump from winning the 2024 election. Another attempt to thwart the will of the American people.
That is the obvious. What is more concerning as a Conservative Christian Patriot is that our civil rights and right to due process are under attack by the left. It is not just former Presidents that are in danger. The protestors jailed because of the Pelosi and Capitol Police created insurrection should be the most obvious clue to that danger.
Parents protesting the teaching of inappropriate curriculums, in their children’s schools, are labeled “domestic terrorists” by a Justice Department that is an unconstitutional organization, weaponized against our citizens. Merrick Garland may be the most ineffectual Attorney General, after Eric Holder, in my lifetime. We can thank God, that though nominated, Garland was not appointed to the Supreme Court. Especially as his cavalier treatment of our Constitution becomes more obvious, minute by minute, we should count ourselves lucky. The past few decades have been a continued insult to our cherished freedoms by many of our leaders.
I think that many Americans, many of whom voted for Trump, are fed up with the lack of a rule of law. The continued invasion from our Southern border and an economy that tanked by the second week of Joe’s administration defines Joe Biden as a morally bankrupt and incompetent leader. Like Obama, Biden is a mealy-mouthed apologist. We need to consider what our freedoms mean, to never, ever take them for granted again.
As Christian Patriots, we obey the rule of law even as we are no longer protected by it. That may change. Additionally, as Christians, we are approaching the Biblical Age of Jubilee. Where public figures will face direct ridicule for their criminal and absurd behavior.
The most difficult Christian principle is forgiveness. I wrote about my struggles with the act of forgiveness in my recent Politichicks article, “The Difficulty of Forgiveness.” It may take many years of prayerful contemplation to forgive the Obama/Biden administration(s) for their cruel and systematic destruction of this country’s best hopes and our best years.
I was raised a Christian, not a Marxist. I refuse to support an evil regime disguised as a political administration. Perhaps America’s turning away from the will of God has led us to this point. For as the French Theologian John Calvin stated, “When God wants to judge a nation; he gives them wicked rulers.”
Additionally, as the old saying goes, “When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.”
