Weather Alarmists Are Triggered Because It’s Summer. And It’s Hot.

In case you missed it and have been inside recently with your A/C running, the major news theme has been: It’s HOT!
It’s hot on the west coast. It’s hot across the south (why it’s over 100 in Texas!). It’s getting hot on the east coast. And bloke it’s HOT HOT HOT in the UK. As Ric Flair might say, “What’s causing all this?”. First let me check my handy dandy calendar here. It says “July”. So that means it is Summer! Gee, whoever thought it might get hot during summer.
As expected, the left is back on it like a hot potato. Predictions of doom and gloom abound. We must act now to save ourselves! And surely the electorate is totally “woke” over this alarming issue and will be demanding action with their votes this fall. Uhhh, nope, nope nope, nope. A recent NYT poll shows only 1% of Americans think global warming is the most important issue facing the country. Poor Al Gore. Maybe he should put this whole issue in his “lock-box”.
But here’s the bottom line: the politicians as a whole don’t believe a word of what they are saying on “climate change”. It’s just another issue they use to gain control over your life and make you dependent on government. If they really believed this was such an existential threat then they would be making changes in their own lives to combat it. Yet they continue to jet across the globe (or “around the corner”, see below) leaving a giant carbon footprint.
The Daily mail recently published an article chronicling some celebrities hypocrisy on the issue (oh no, you mean leftist celebrities don’t live by the same rules they demand from the people who aren’t like them? Shocking! Positively shocking!).
Stars such as Mark Wahlberg, Jay Z and Steven Spielberg lecture us about saving the planet… then use their private jets for flights that take just MINUTES instead of driving.
Steven Spielberg has previously said he is ‘terrified’ of global warming, calling for ‘everyone’ to be mindful that it could ‘pose a danger to your children and grandchildren. But the director and film producer didn’t let that stop him from taking his $70million Gulfstream G650 jet, on a 17-minute flight on June 29. His 28-mile trip from Amsterdam Airport to Rotterdam Airport would have taken him just 36 minutes by car, or an hour by public transport. According to CelebrityJets, the flight used 145 gallons of jet fuel, cost him $1,011 for the fuel and resulted in 2 tons of Co2 emissions.
Power couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been encouraging the masses to switch to a plant-based diet with their Greenprint Project. They want to share the ‘positive impact we can have on the world by eating plant-based meals’ according to the website. The international stars own a $40million Bombardier Challenger 850, which can hold up to 19 passengers and has a kitchen, bedroom, two bathrooms, and a living room. But rapper Jay-Z also has access to a luxury Gulfstream IV, created and personalised for him by Puma – even created a tail number for him.
The Puma jet flew from Seattle International Airport to Eugene Airport in just 47minutes on July 17.
A commercial flight would set you back $178, and take an hour and five minutes to get to the destination. Driving by car would take just under five hours, with the commercial flight taking one mile less and results in 0.07 tons of Co2 emissions being used. The flight used up 353 gallons of jet fuel, costing $2,411 and ultimately creating 4 tons of Co2 emissions.
Speaking about the Greenprint Project, Beyonce said: ‘The information is hard to ignore, the benefits of a single plant-based meal a day can have such a profound impact on our health and the environment, spanning from cutting carbon emissions to conserving water. We want to challenge you as we challenge ourselves to move towards a more plant-based lifestyle and acknowledge you for standing up for your health and the health of the planet.’
These are but a couple examples you can read about in the full article. Hypocrisy abounds.
Now onto the actual weather itself.
As far as the heat wave that has moved across the U.S., this is nothing unusual for this time of year. The media is counting on folks short memories to create the illusion that this is some sort of aberration. Yes in some places it is a little hotter than normal but that doesn’t translate into climate doom.
Then there’s England. That one feels different because we rarely hear about it being above 100 there. But I don’t trust anything the media says. So I did some checking. Here are some other infamous heat waves that plagued the UK:
1808: It was 100 in London on July 13.
1906: Bawtry recorded a high of 96.1 on September 2. The heat wave lasted a couple weeks.
1911: On August 9, Raunds, Northampshire sweltered under a 98.2 temperature. England was gripped by a heat wave that lasted over two months from early July – mid September! By comparison, the recent heat wave lasted 48 hours.
1976: The peak temperature reached 96.6 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire on July 3. The heat held on from late July through late August.
So it can (and does) get hot in England.
Yet, while England has been broiling, it is winter in Australia and they have been experiencing record cold.
“Eastern Australia’s giant cold snap is finally breaking down but not before temperatures reached lows not seen for seven decades or longer and pushed the country’s main electricity grid to the brink.
The extended chill was caused by an unusual weather pattern that locked in cool pools of air over southern and eastern states, triggering the deepest snow dumps in the alps since 1968, according to Ben Domensino, a senior meteorologist at Weatherzone. “Because it was so persistent over two weeks, we haven’t seen a start to winter that cold in decades for most of south-eastern Australia,” Domensino said.
Melbourne was among the colder cities. The Victorian capital’s main monitoring site failed to breach 15 degrees during the period for the first time since 1949, Domensino said. Canberra, well known for its frosty winters, remained below 12.7 degrees, its coldest start to winter since 1964. Hobart, the state capital most exposed to bracing Antarctic cold fronts, remained below 13.8 degrees for its coolest winter’s start since 1982.
But don’t worry folks. The catastrophe of “climate change” is still upon us. I just love the title of the article: “Four ways to understanding why Australia is so cold right now DESPITE global warming.”
Determining whether climate change helped make a particular weather event more likely or more severe than it would have been—whether a cold snap, a heatwave or flooding rains—requires a formal attribution study, which looks for a climate change “fingerprint”.
Overall, the planet has warmed 1.09℃ since pre-industrial times. And since 2012, the human caused climate change fingerprint has been clear in any single day of global weather.
Did you get that? Humans are totally responsible for the warming planet. So says meteorological forensics looking for “fingerprints.” No influence from that bright ball we call the sun. Nothing to see there. Ask yourself when the last time you ever heard the sun factored in as part of the equation in the mainstream media. You probably can’t. Real scientists without political tentacles do of course. That’s why you never hear their voices. The only ones you hear are those of the leftist media and Hollywood. They lecture the rest of us about what we need sacrifice to solve the problem without changing their jet setting lives one iota.
They are full of hot air.
