Dr. Fred Eichelman: Ah, The Memories Fly, They Never Die
"A poem that came to me in a dream..."

Ah The Memories Fly, They Never Die
Ah The Memories Fly, They Never Die
All our life we collect beautiful moments,
We can never forget that stick with us.
Of Parents as we grew up and other
family members including pets.
Tears come to our eyes without regrets.
Ah The Memories Fly, They Never Die
Of schooling and friends during that
Time and the start of A career.
The stories read, and got to tell
Then when I met the love of my life
That first date and becoming my wife.
Ah The Memories Fly, They Never Die
And then first children we got to hold.
Things we were sure would always last.
Then too soon they become memories past.
And when those children have their own,
You still think all time is your own.
Ah The Memories Fly, They Never Die
Now we who are old can only advise,
Imparting wisdom that we hope is wise.
One sure thing we want all to know,
When life is past what is of most import,
That it is God who gives us support.
Ah The Memories Fly, They Never Die
Someday to Heaven we will get to fly.
If we accept Jesus as Savior and Lord,
To repeat it often is not overboard.
Thank you, Jesus, for memories we hold.
Someday in your arms us you will hold.
