Democrat Virtual Convention – Night of the Bore

So if you missed the first night of the Democratic convention, I’ll sum it up for you in one word: B-O-R-I-N-G. And full of cliches. I couldn’t decide whether I was watching a serious event or Saturday Night Live.

It was hosted by Eva Longoria. I didn’t realize she was still relevant.

Here are some of the highlights:

James Clyburn – he started to speak and then was told to stop (apparently due to some technical glitch) then start again.

Joe Biden was featured in a room with 4 screens interviewing prominent Democrats/leftists and asking THEM questions. Yes they actually did that.

Then came a real steal by the Democrats – Republican John Kasich. They can have him. Anyway, here’s part of what he had to say:

“I know Joe is a good man, a man of faith, a unifier, someone who understands the hopes and dreams of the common man and the common woman, a man who can help us to see the humanity in each other. He knows that the path to a restored and rejuvenated America lies in respect and unity and a common purpose for everyone. I know that Joe Biden with his experience and his wisdom and his decency can bring us together to help us find that better way.”

What universe does Kasich live in? He obviously hasn’t gotten over losing badly in the 2016 primary. The Joe Biden I have observed is one who says blacks are monolithic and not black if they vote for Trump. And he also once asked a wheelchair bound vet to stand. Yeah that’s Joe! Hey at least Kasich didn’t mention his dad was a mail man.

Andrew Cuomo (the Nursing Home Killer):

The European virus infected the Northeast while the White House was still fixated on China. The virus had been attacking us for months before they even knew it was here. We saw the failure of a government that tried to deny the virus, then tried to ignore it, and then tried to politicize it. The failed federal government that watched New York get ambushed by their negligence and then watch New York suffer but all through it learned absolutely nothing.”

This is actually very telling. First Cuomo deflects ANY responsibility for the horrible response to the virus in NY. But then he calls it the “European Virus”. The left HAS to do this so as to cover up the fact that Trump WAS addressing the virus and DID take it seriously by restricting air travel from China – while the Democrats were holding impeachment hearings. But what’s most interesting is that Cuomo said this several months ago:

“What the federal government did working with states was a phenomenal accomplishment,” the governor marveled. “We bent the curve. We flattened the curve. Government did it. People did it, but government facilitates people’s actions, right? The president brought in the Army Corps of Engineers. They built 2,500 at Javits … It was a phenomenal accomplishment. Close to a thousand people have gone through Javits. Luckily, we didn’t need the 2,500 beds. But all the projections said we did need it and more … so these were just extraordinary efforts and acts of mobilization, and the federal government stepped up and was a great partner, and I’m the first one to say it. We needed help and they were there.”

And what would a Democratic event be without the wit and wisdom of Amy Klobuchar:

“The president may hate the post office, but he’s still going to have to send them a change of address card come January.”

Oh stop! My sides are splitting!! How Funny!!! Not. It’s no wonder why she went nowhere in the primary. She’s just a walking cliche. I’m pretty sure she said other things but I could care less.

Then it was on to Bernie Sanders:

Our great nation is now living in an unprecedented moment. We’re facing the worst public health crisis in 100 years and the worst economic collapse since the great depression. We are confronting systemic racism and the enormous threat to our planet of climate change. And in the midst of all of this, we have a president who is not only incapable of addressing these crises, but is leading us down the path of authoritarianism. This election is the most important in the modern history of this country. In response to the unprecedented crises we face, we need an unprecedented response, a movement like never before of people who are prepared to stand up and fight for democracy and decency and against greed, oligarchy, and bigotry. And we need Joe Biden as our next president.”

One thing about Bernie Sanders – he’s always a ray of sunshine! Is the guy ever happy? I did see him smile once. I thought the world was coming to an end. Poor Bernie. He HATES authoritarianism except where it ACTUALLY exists. You know places like Russia and China. Or when a liberal Democrat is President.

“Many of the ideas we fought for that just a few years ago were considered radical are now mainstream.”

Now that is the most accurate thing he’s ever said. The Democrat Party has gone full radical left. It’s why they will lose again this fall.

But let us be clear, if Donald Trump is reelected, all the progress we have made will be in jeopardy.”

Good! We’ve had enough liberal “progress”.

He has tried to prevent people from voting, undermine the US Postal Service, deployed the military and federal agents against peaceful protesters, threatened to delay the election, and suggested that he will not leave office if he loses. This is not normal and we must never treat it like it is. Under this administration, authoritarianism has taken root in country. I and my family, and many of yours, know the insidious way authoritarianism destroys democracy, decency, and humanity.”

I know! I remember seeing the video of Trump standing in voting places ripping ballots out of folks hands. It was terrible!

Seriously, the Democrats are still completely ignoring or denying the riots that are going on or have gone on across the country. But it’s not surprising. They have to. They have no choice. But it may very well be their downfall.

Finally it was Michele Obama:

I am here tonight because I love this country with all my heart.”

OMG!!! FULL STOP!!! Here ye, here ye!!! Michelle O now LOVES the country!

And four years ago, too many people chose to believe that their votes didn’t matter. Maybe they were fed up. Maybe they thought the outcome wouldn’t be close. Maybe the barriers felt too steep.”

How, I ask you, how is that possible???? I mean we were coming off the longest economic expansion in history according to Kamala Harris. We had the guy who said this, THIS is the moment when the rise of the ocean began to slow and our planet begin to heal! Why in the world would folks be fed up?

Whatever the reason, in the end, those choices sent someone to the oval office who lost the National Popular Vote by nearly 3 million votes. In one of the states that determine the outcome, the winning margin averaged out to just two votes per precinct. Two votes. And we’ve all been living with the consequences.”

Yeah, we’ve been living with the consequences of sore losers. The left is still refusing to accept the results of the 2016 election.

Because right now, folks who know they cannot win fair and square at the ballot box are doing everything they can to stop us from voting. They’re closing down polling places in minority neighborhoods. They’re purging voter rolls. They’re sending people out to intimidate voters and they’re lying about the security of our ballots.”

That is just a lie and she knows it. What we’re trying to prevent is CHEATING, not voting. The Democrats can’t win on ideas. If they could then they wouldn’t need mail-in voting. And I wonder when Michelle Obama will be concerned with the “purging” of minority children in the womb that has been implemented by PP for over 100 years.

So if you take one thing from my words tonight, it is this. If you think things cannot possibly get worse, trust me, they can..”

Indeed they will if Biden is elected. Or was this a threat?

By the way, I read through MO’s transcript twice. You know what I didn’t see? One mention of Kamala Harris. If Biden is such a unifier and a champion for blacks, why no mention of her? I found that very interesting.

Lastly I include the entire transcript of a young girl who lost her father to the corona virus. This was read from a teleprompter and you could obviously see her move her eyes constantly to read each line.

I’m Kristin Urquiza. I’m one of the many who has lost a loved one to COVID. My dad, Mark Anthony Urquiza, should be here today, but he isn’t. He had faith in Donald Trump. He voted for him, listened to him, believed him and his mouthpieces when they said that coronavirus was under control and going to disappear, that it was OK to end social distancing rules before it was safe, and that if you had no underlying health conditions, you’d probably be fine. So, in late May, after the stay-at-home order was lifted in Arizona, my dad went to a karaoke bar with his friends. A few weeks later, he was put on a ventilator. And after five agonizing days, he died alone in the ICU with a nurse holding his hand. My dad was a healthy 65-year-old. His only preexisting condition was trusting Donald Trump — and for that, he paid with his life.

I am not alone. Once I told my story, a lot of people reached out to me to share theirs. They asked me to help them keep their communities safe, especially communities of color, which have been disproportionately affected. They asked me, a normal person, to help, because Donald Trump won’t.

The coronavirus has made it clear that there are two Americas: the America that Donald Trump lives in and the America that my father died in. Enough is enough. Donald Trump may not have caused the coronavirus, but his dishonesty and his irresponsible actions made it so much worse. We need a leader who has a national, coordinated, data-driven response to stop this pandemic from claiming more lives and to safely reopen the country. We need a leader who will step in on day one and do his job, to care.

One of the last things that my father said to me was that he felt betrayed by the likes of Donald Trump. And so, when I cast my vote for Joe Biden, I will do it for my dad.”

This is one of the most despicable things I have ever seen. Having recently lost my dad (not to the corona virus), I can’t imagine the mindset that would cause someone to go public with this kind of tirade. It would never even occur to me. And if someone asked me to I would tell them where they could go. I would say the Democrats should be ashamed of themselves for doing this but they are incapable of that. This is what they do. Whether it’s Cindy Sheehan, David Hogg or countless others, they constantly use someone’s personal tragedy to attack their political opponent. Is this what Michele Obama means by “going high”? I joke and mock the left a lot in my articles but this is beyond the pale. And they should be made to pay a price for it politically this fall.

This is what causes division in our country. Not Donald Trump.

And we still have 3 more nights of this. God help us.
