New Rules: Open Your Business As a Sign of Protest

The major cities in this country have been under attack for the last week. New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Atlanta were looted, burned to the ground and destroyed. Many citizens watched as the Mayors of these cities, and Governors of the states in which these cities are located, lauded the “protestors” in the name of “ending systemic racism.” Adding insult to that injury, and an additional slap in the face, the same Governors and Mayors excused the obvious violations of their own lockdown orders by the rioting bands of thugs in order to virtue signal to the law abiding citizens that COVID-19 and the deadliness thereof, were not in fact a valid reason to chastise those violating the orders.

Going to Church or attending the funeral of a loved one was deemed a dangerous mass gathering and yet thousands upon thousands of wild looters and rioters gathering together were exempt from the rules.

So I am declaring it is time to open up the economy in full. I am calling upon all small and medium sized business owners who are sick of being closed, locked down and treated as if your livelihood doesn’t matter to open up as a clear protest against the systematic dismantling of your business. How is it possible that We The People have been so compliant for so long and are still being cast aside in the name of “protests?” How is it justifiable to apply the law, or lockdown orders, in an unequal fashion? Is that not what these protests are allegedly all about, the unjust application of the law? Are we going to sit still and accept this upside-down policy approach to allowing mass gatherings of certain interest groups but at the same time being subjected to continued lockdown orders in the name of public health?

Here is the way forward: Open Up. Every group, every person, go back to your normal life. If you are questioned, call it a protest against government and the lockdown orders. Say your right to your property and your business has been taken away in an unjust manner by the lockdown orders.

If you call it a protest, as the states have shown by their adjusted orders, it seems like COVID-19 gets scared away. If we have learned anything about the way the government looks at this virus, they believe it is only a threat to religious people who own businesses and are compliant with the law.

Its time. Its time to declare the COVID-19 crisis over. Its time to say to the various state governments, “no, we are through with this.” It is time for us to once again reclaim our God given right to our property and the right to work to provide for our families. Unfortunately, the governments of the various states have taken advantage of the deference many of us gave them in the name of being good citizens and loving our neighbor as ourselves.

So now, we must re-establish our freedom. We must stand up against the tyrants that would keep us locked down and who allowed rioting, looting, protestors to roam the streets with little to no repercussion on two fronts. We should openly declare

• The violation of all the various laws they have broken and
• The violation of the lockdown orders.

In sum, we are at a tipping point in the lockdown era of the COVID-19 crisis. We have to choose whether will we be creative and say we are opening in a defiant act of protest against a state that would keep us closed, or will we declare ourselves free from the dictates of a government that would keep us locked down? The choice is clear, will we open up fully, or allow ourselves to cower in place in the name of being “loyal citizens?”
