The Longer I Walk With the Lord

The longer I walk with the Lord and study His Word, the more I understand, and yet so many things remain mysteries. Why did my friend, the father of young children, succumb to a terminal disease? Why did a virus cause our leaders to make the unprecedented decision to literally shut down our nation, crippling our economy and devouring the life savings of countless people? Why are churches mandated to close but Planned Parenthood remains open? My list would be without end, were I to set to writing the questions that I have about life.
But this I know: No matter how it looks, nothing is out of control because God is firmly in control of everything, and He will bring this craziness to an end at the perfect time. It will last until His purpose is accomplished and not one minute more. And those of us who have come to Him through the saving grace of Jesus Christ need not worry, only to pray and watch, trust and obey.
When I was a little girl there was a song with these lines:
Many things about tomorrow
I don’t seem to understand.
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand.
