Emery McClendon: I Support President Trump and Ask You To Do The Same
Donald Trump promised to “Make America Great” again when he entered the race to be the Republican nominee. It was a promise aimed at every American citizen. It was a promise that every person in America could believe in because candidate Trump affirmed his intentions repeatedly. He even reached out personally and asked the Black community what they had to lose if they voted for him. Throughout his campaign he reached out to every segment of the American population. After he was elected, he continued to do so.During his first three years in office he has worked hard against a mountain of resistance to bring down unemployment, raise the standard of living in America, fix our borders and criminal justice system, increase our national security, rebuild our Armed Forces, and minimize government intrusion in our everyday lives. He believes in our Founding Principles. He puts America First, and that principle has been missing in previous administrations. He believes in limited government, and is seeking ways to help Americans pursue their own American Dream, not follow a prescribed Socialist “we will provide for you” agenda.
He has met with and honored people from all segments of our society. Held forums and conferences with many who would never have been able to step inside of the White House without his invitation to attend. I have attended several of them. He has asked for our ideas and input, and followed up on them. He has even allowed many of them to be put into practice; the results have been great.
Many charge that the President is a racist, but they do so based on rumor, ignorance, or because it is popular to join the crowd and throw stones. Many Blacks say that they dislike the President, but cannot justify their dislike with valid reasons. Others attribute false claims against the President by twisting his statements or repeating what have heard in the media or by word of mouth. The truth of the matter is that they just don’t like President Trump because he does not fit their brand of politics, and they don’t really know anything about him. Those who want to destroy him have a goal, to transform America,and eliminate our Constitution and rule of law.
There are many other arguments in favor of supporting President Trump, too many to mention here. So I ask you to ponder your reasons for not giving him a level playing field. Ask yourself and others, if President Trump has kept his promises and given us a glimmer of hope for America? Are you willing to Keep America Great, or do you want our country to regress back to the failed tax and spend Socialist policies of the the Democrat Party and Progressives?
All it takes for one to see the difference between his path for our nation and that of the other side is to research and acknowledge the division, waste, and opposition that is happening from the Democrat Party since the Inauguration of President Trump. The Democrats refuse to put Americans first even during a national crisis. The President is clearly proving that he is a leader, and can solve America’s problems first and foremost from a commonsense business approach, as well as politically. The Democratic Socialist Progressives do not have our interests at heart, they support their back pockets, and their special interest groups. If we continue to go in that direction it will lead us into failure.
The evidence is clear, and the proof is in policy, action, and results. President Trump meets and exceeds all of those expectations. That is why I support him, and urge you to do the same.
