Michael Ingmire, Seven Years After Benghazi: David Meet Goliath

(From Editor: This article was originally published in 2019 but needs to be remembered as often as possible.)
State Department Information Officer/Benghazi murder victim, Sean Smith, was my nephew by marriage. We were vastly different people. Yet, let no harm come to any relative or friend of mine from government or a single foe. I take it personally. That is part of the culture by which I was raised. To paraphrase Tom Petty, it is a part of my Southern accent.
Which Candidate Do You Support in the Republican Primaries?
Last year, I wrote a loving anniversary piece called “Six Years of Benghazi: The Comfort of Friends,” for Politichicks. That was a tribute to the great citizens and friends that have assisted me with their knowledge and support in my search for accountability. The folks mentioned in that article still have my gratitude. Their ranks grow daily.
At this juncture, we are approaching the seven year anniversary of the Benghazi attacks. I am not feeling especially warm and fuzzy these days.
I am still cursed with a consistent level of anger over the lack of accountability in regards to what happened in Benghazi. Recent events continue that maddening trend.
Consider the following three items:
1. Posthumous Congressional Gold Medals Still Not Awarded
Despite being sponsored by a moderate Democrat, Stephen Lynch (D-MA, 8th), Congress can not set aside it’s “hate Trump” agenda long enough to make a basic decision. Lynch proposed to posthumously award Congressional Gold Medals to the four Benghazi victims. The House approved the bill, H.R. 2315, in 2018, with a surprisingly unanimous voice vote. The bill did not pass the Senate before their 2018 recess. It stagnates on the House floor.
2. Lightweight Sentences for Benghazi Terrorists
In the past year, an Obama appointed Judge, Christopher Cooper, handed out lightweight sentences to one unrepentant Benghazi terrorist, Ahmed Abu Khattala, and recently declared a mistrial on 15 of 17 Benghazi related charges against another terrorist, Mustafa al-Imam. Not that surprising to me. This game has been consistently rigged by the Obama White House and the Stepford Wife Media starting in 2012 and continues today. Unequivocally, and true to script, the 2016 election proved that the Justice Department can be co-opted by any political party.
3. Obama Deems Himself Scandal-Free
Recently the former President and former First Lady had the unmitigated gall to declare that the eight years of their Obama Administration was “scandal free.” That was also recently echoed by the infinitely empty headed Former Vice President and current Presidential Candidate, Joe Biden.
Hey Barack, Hey Michelle, Hey Joe, why don’t you go to the final resting places of these four murdered Americans and articulate your arguments to them that your eight years were scandal free?
Biden, the Obamas, Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi, among many, are members of a shadow government. This shadow government, also known as the Deep State, is the dark side of both political parties, a monstrous mutation of the worst aspects of their shared history. It was not created overnight and will not be diminished easily.
I saw this shadow government first-hand In the aftermath of the Benghazi attack with the consistent stonewalling by Former House Speaker John Boehner, which was further stonewalled by Former House Speaker Paul Ryan.
Boehner assigned the investigation of Benghazi to various incompetent committees, including the House Select Committee on Benghazi. They never made it past the ten yard line towards the truth.
You see everyone in Washington has a possessiveness about their various Committee appointments. After all, committees have attractive funding. They also provide that all important narcissistic platform for the next speech.
The continued lack of adult accountability in Washington saddens and frustrates me as an American. The lack of a true bipartisan investigation of the many crimes of the Obama Administration continues to anger me. President Obama and, to a degree, Hillary Clinton are responsible for nor only Benghazi, but Extortion 17, the targeting of Conservatives by the IRS, Fast and Furious, Uranium One and misuse of public funds, among their many crimes.
Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton belong in jail.
The recent shootings in El Paso, TX and Dayton, OH have further demonstrated the continuing pettiness and hypocrisy of Barack Hussein Obama. How dare he denigrate President Trump for the actions of a lone gunman?
After all Barack, lone gunman/mass shootings, including Fort Hood, went up a whopping 246.7%–that’s 37 mass shootings–during your eight years.
Perhaps the “third term” of Barack Obama and his shadow government will end in a justifiable jail term for Obama and his crew.
In closing, many times I have been told to let the issue of Benghazi go. Really? Go where? The hypocrisy of government as it stands needs to be addressed by the American people. I will continue to confront the pathetic maladministrative bullies that infest Washington. A political stench can be quite overpowering, but justice always smells sweet.
We must never be afraid to confront public officials, like Obama and Clinton, for their wrong doing. That is our responsibility for living in this country. I will never believe in the impossibility of addressing evil. God has never placed a Goliath in our path that our inner David could not conquer.
