Emery McClendon: We Must Continue to Advance Conservatism in the Era of President Trump

Do you remember election night November 8, 2016?  It was a night that surprised everyone, including the Democrats, because they thought that their candidate, Hillary Clinton, would be a runaway victor for the Presidency, winning by a landslide over one Donald Trump.

The final announcement came late into the night; Donald Trump had been elected as our 45Th President-Elect of the United States of America.

The message of Conservatism had prevailed over Progressive doctrine.

The People had heard the message of a businessman who had promised us that he would drain the Washington DC Swamp, and return the government to the people.

Eight years of the Obama Administration’s aggressive anti-American polices would soon come to an end. The media and the Democrats were stunned.

Could America be ready to return to Conservative Principles under the leadership of President Trump?  Was America ready for real change or would it be business as usual?

The opposition, including many in the President’s own political party announced that they were ready to do all that they could to stop his agenda. The Republican’s had been given all three branches of government, but were some how conveying the message that they were not willing to work with Mr. Trump toward a conservative agenda.

Many American’s were waiting with eagerness for the Inauguration to take place on January 20Th 2017.  It was slated to be the dawning of a new era for our nation. The road ahead was anticipated with eagerness.

The battle lines were drawn, and the President came out swinging.  Throughout his first ninety days in office he kept campaign promise after promise, and showed the nation, and the world that America had a new Sheriff in town.  He was determined to return the government to the people.  After all, that is the way our Founders formed our Republic.

Our nation was founded upon sound principles and a strong Constitution, which was also confirmed in our Declaration of Independence. And other Founding Documents.

It is because of these principles, and our Rule of Law that America has prospered.  America’s new President believes in the American Dream, our Founding Principles, and the Conservative message. He set out to repair the damage done to our economy, our infrastructure, our military, our image; and our government by the previous administration.

The task at hand would not be easy, and it would take a strong leader and team to stay on track, amid the opposition.

I wonder how many of you realize the importance of what our President is doing.  Do you really understand what is at stake for America?

During the prior eight years we had witnessed some of the most corrupt activities in the history of our government by the Obama Administration.

Those who are behind this attempt to transform our nation have not given up their fight to destroy our Republic.  They continue to undermine and sabotage our government with an even greater passion.

Why is it that they hate our Founding Principles so much, and why is it so important for us to resist them with every ounce of energy that we have at our disposal?

These are questions that we need to consider with deep concern if we really want to preserve and restore our nation, and continue to be the greatest influence of freedom and liberty that the world has ever experienced.

 I know that I want America to continue to prosper, DO YOU?

Let’s take a brief look at what our Founders gave us when they formed our nation.  I speak mainly of our U.S. Constitution and The Declaration Of Independence:

“When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”

Notice that the Founders considered themselves to be first and foremost ONE people. They also considered themselves subject to laws that are of Nature and of Nature’s God.  They stressed that these laws are not manmade, or given to us by government.

It is equally important for us to realize these facts in the Era of President Trump, if we want to restore our nation.  We must continue to realize that we are accountable to ourselves, and most importantly to Almighty God, to secure the blessings of liberty into the future.  We must always keep in mind that it is He who is the provider of our liberty.

The Deep State and those involved in the Progressive Movement would have us to bow down to man and look to the government for our freedom and liberty.  We cannot allow that lie to prevail.

The Founders go on to spell out to us that these rights are “self Evident” and that we are endowed with certain “unalienable rights.”  They go on to say that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

However, they did not stop there.  They also pointed out to us the remedy for a tyrannical government.  “That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”  That’s means you and I!

We must continue to walk in the Founders footsteps, and in their ideas during the Era Of Conservatism under President Trump.  If we fail to do so, America will be lost, and our Constitution, and Founding Principles will be destroyed; by those who hate and disrespect them.  That cannot be our final destiny.

My fellow Patriots, and those who love our nation, my plea to you is that we stand fast and continue to carry the torch of Lady Liberty.  We have been a prosperous and free nation because of our Constitutional Principles, our Veteran’s, and the sacrifices of those who serve in our military on active duty. They sacrifice daily for us to remain free.

Let us also never forget that America is also a gift from Almighty God, therefore we must remain diligent to our cause, and pass down our principles to future generations, in tact.

Will you join me this day to ask our Creator God to continue to bless and protect us in this Era of President Trump, and during this era of the unprecedented attempts to destroy Conservatism and the American Dream?

Will you unite and fight for the cause of freedom and liberty for each and every American?

We are truly blessed to be American’s.  We are blessed to live in a land where we can enjoy the blessings of God, and the fruit of our labor, but we must never forget that we are under constant attack by those who dislike what our Founders gave us.

It is our duty to protect our freedom and liberty. So I ask of you to ponder the words of one of our Founders, Ben Franklin, who said that we have “a Republic, if you can keep it.”

Can YOU keep it?  Are you willing to work or perhaps even give your life to keep the greatest nation on earth, so that we may pass it down to our children and grandchildren?

We must if we seek to advance Conservatism during the era of President Trump.  If we fail to do so, America as we have known it will be lost.
