Defining What “Presidential” Means

“That is not Presidential.” Every day the mainstream media, politicians on the Left, and even some of President Trump’s supporters make that statement. His Tweets are not presidential, his statements during news conferences, things he says to and about other nation’s leaders, the amount of ice cream he eats, his cap and even his hair, they say, are not presidential. President Trump and his family are bombarded with endless criticism, yet he never whines or complains. To the contrary, he keeps moving forward on the promises he made to us, the American people, to Make America Great Again.
Here are just a few of President Trump’s achievements in his first less-than-a-year in office: respect from other world leaders, historically low illegal border crossings, cities removing themselves from sanctuary status, reduction in the amount of refugees entering our nation, reversing Obama’s nuclear policy with Iran, withdrawing from Paris Climate Agreement, appointment of judges who support our Constitution, sweeping tax reforms making the way for many (and more every day) businesses to give raises and bonuses to their employees, increase in jobs, approving the Keystone Pipeline, unemployment at a 17-year low, black unemployment rate lowest in 45 years, home sales high, rolling back regulations on off-shore oil drilling, our miners are back to work, market closed at all-time high.
What his detractors consider to be presidential is a mystery, but I can tell you what it means to me: Presidential means having a wise man in the White House who knows what to do and has the courage of his convictions regardless of powerful, ever-present opposition. Presidential is a man who understands and speaks the language of his supports as well as his detractors. Presidential is a real man who stands up for himself and calls to account false accusers and impudent world leaders. I appreciate President Trump’s clear communication; when he speaks, I understand him. When he Tweets or responds with a slap-down to the media, I salute him.
Finally we have a leader.
Each day I feel safer and more secure than I did the day before. Once again I can envision a future of freedom and prosperity for my grandchildren. My family thanks God for President Donald J. Trump; he personifies what it means to be presidential.
