Good Guys with Guns: Texas Church Shooter Stopped by Former NRA Instructor

We hear from our friends on the Left how ‘EVIL’ the NRA is every time there is a mass shooting. However, is there any evidence to actually prove that a single member of the NRA has ever committed a mass shooting? Why is it the NRA’s fault every time a lunatic decides to commit such acts of evil? Especially since the NRA members tend to be law-abiding citizens.
In fact, it was a former NRA instructor that stopped the church shooter in Texas this past Sunday. Shooter Devin Kelley killed 26 people inside a church in Sutherland Springs. Stephen Willeford, an ex-NRA instructor, confronted Kelley, chased him for miles, and is now being credited for putting an end to the horrible massacre.
Willeford told KHBS:
“Everytime I heard a shot I knew that probably represented a life. I was scared to death. I was. I was scared for me and I was scared for every one of them and I was scared for my own family that just lived less than a block away.”
Willeford remembered approaching the church, waiting for Kelley outside, then opening fire. He explained:
“He saw me and I saw him. I was standing behind a pickup truck for cover. I know I hit him. He got into his vehicle, and he fired another couple rounds through his side window. When the window dropped, I fired another round at him again.” He also stressed, “I am no hero. I am no hero. I think my God, my Lord protected me and gave me the skills to do what needed to be done. And I just wish I could have gotten there faster but I didn’t know. I didn’t know what was happening.”
What a good guy and thank goodness for guys like him who have guns. We need more of these men around, not less.
