Dispelling “Pro Woman” Hillary’s Gender Wage Gap Myth

“Pro Woman” Hillary spends a lot of time talking about ‘equal pay for women’.  I put “pro woman” in quotations since “pro woman” Hillary has no qualms accepting millions of dollars in donations from nations (i.e. Saudi Arabia) that are horribly oppressive to women and gays.
Here she is championing equal pay in South Carolina, trying to push more of her progressive government programs onto American citizens:
However, Â what she and many other feminists fail to admit, is that women in the United States and Western Europe are the freest and most liberated in human history. In many ways, we are actually doing better than men!
And when we look at the wage gap between men and women, which there are claims that women make 77 cents for every dollar a man earns, we have to dig much deeper to see the BIGGER picture. The 23 cent gender pay gap is simply the difference between the average earnings of men and women working full-time. It does not take into account the differences in occupations, positions, job tenure, and hours worked per week.
For example, with doctors–> when we dig a little deeper, we find that women are far more likely than men to enter lower-paying specialities (pediatrics, family medicine) than higher paying ones (cardiology, orthopedics). They are also more likely to work part-time. And even women who work full-time put in 7% fewer hours than men. Women doctors are more likely to take longer leaves of absence than men, usually to raise a family. Therefore, the pay gap narrows when we account for all these factors.
Besides, if the pay gap was really true and men were paid more than women for doing the EXACT same job, wouldn’t most employers fire as many male employees as possible and replace them with more females?
Sometimes in our pursuit of happiness, men and women take somewhat different paths. And that’s GREAT that we live in a country where we can pursue a path that BEST suits our talents and the needs of our families.
