AlfonZo Rachel: ‘Yo! Where’d the Ark of the Covenant Go?’
As a Roman Catholic, I have never been able to explain to those Christians of other denominations why we revere and honor (not worship) the Blessed Virgin Mary as we do, to the point of celebrating not just the anniversary of her birth as a feast day, but also the anniversary of her creation. Mary was not just a dutiful young girl chosen by God; it is she, not Christ as too many misunderstand, who is the Immaculate Conception, God created her without the stain of Adam specifically because she was to carry His Son. It is for this reason she did not die, as all human beings will, but her body was assumed into heaven, how she has been able to return in that body to speak to Bernadette in Lourdes, the children in Fatima; these and other similar events are called Marian Apparitions.
In this less than ten minute video, Alfonzo Rachel provides a brilliant, grounded-in-the-Bible explanation for that which I have never truly found more words to use other than “she’s going to carry Jesus Christ, she is the Mother of God.” While yes, it is Zo’s opinion, as is every faith-based discussion on faith-based matters, his is step-by-Biblical-step logic and reason.
