Daniel Greenfield: We Are a Minority

(Editor’s Message: Going forward, this article by Daniel Greenfield is representative of the direction PolitiChicks will now be taking. We will refocus our work towards fighting for conservative principles, which is why PolitiChicks was created in the first place. We will continue educating and informing about Islam, creeping Sharia, big government, Common Core, illegal immigration, and all the social issues that have direct impact on all Americans. We will write about faith, freedom, and family. In such volatile, violent-leaning times, we refuse to fight by scorching the earth in anger but instead by shining the light on the darkness. As Greenfield writes, “We are the keepers of the flame in a dark age. If we let it die out, then the darkness falls. We are a minority.” Ann-Marie Murrell)
If we were not a minority, the country would be a different place. It is time that we accepted that simple fact.
It is not a cause for despair, but for pride.
We do not march at the head of a conquering army. We are an insurgency of principles and ideas.
We are the ones who remind those at the top of our party that their victory is hollow without principles and ideas. And if they don’t always listen, the time always comes when they must.
The past years have all too often made us complacent. They have convinced us that we are on the right side of history. But there is no right side of history. There is just us and what we fight for.
We do not live in an age of expanding possibilities. Instead we are the last remaining hope of our culture, our country and our civilization.
We see what most do not. And we dedicate ourselves to a struggle that most will turn down. Victories will be few and not easy ones. And we should never become too comfortable or too convinced that this time we have it. We are the rear guard. We are all there is before the fall of darkness. We may not win. But neither will we give up.
We are not content to abandon ourselves to barbarism. We do not fight merely out of spite or anger. We do it because we believe a better world is possible. Because we can see that world when few can.
That must keep us from despair in even the darkest of times.
We are the keepers of the flame in a dark age. If we let it die out, then the darkness falls.
Our numbers are small. Take pride that you stand among us.
Trust not in men. Stand strong. Do not be dragged down by labels or false hopes. Do not feel all is lost when lies triumph. They only last for a brief while. Do not feel that you have failed or are useless. Principles are never useless. Courage is never futile.
Be proud of the task. Do not falter or despair. Do not be overwhelmed by the savage times and trials.
Have faith. Be of good courage. Raise proud banners of principle and let them fly. And though they may be stained with mud, remember that they and you are the hope of a nation.
