The Syndrome Called Obamacare

PolitiChicks.comThey passed it without reading it, and the American people are suffering at the hands of those who exempted themselves from this malady.

Obamacare rules are “kicking in” and I am distressed. Without disclosing private or unnecessary information, allow me to present you with a few scenarios directly affecting me or my family in the past 2 weeks.

Which Candidate Do You Support in the Republican Primaries?

My granddaughter is having severe headaches. She is 15. Because she isn’t crying and wailing when she gets to the doctor’s office or to ER, they dismiss her with nothing but pain meds and tell her to see a neurologist. She lives in a large city and the soonest her mom can get her an appointment is 12 weeks out. Apparently there is a shortage of neurologist in the U.S. I wonder why.

My husband has a history of colon cancer in his immediate family. For many years he has had a colonoscopy every 3 years. Now he can only get one every 5 years, even though he has had suspicious areas that were supposedly being “watched”. The reason is because our insurance will no longer pay.

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), a chronic autoimmune disorder. It causes inflammation and degeneration in my joints. I woke up last Saturday and could not move my head to either side. Sunday was worse and on Monday I saw my doctor. Symptomatically, it appears I have a ruptured disc. The next step is a MRI. I have had the same “good” insurance for 35+ years but now I have to wait for an approval for the MRI. Under the new rules, physical therapy is required for 6 weeks before an MRI or CT can be performed. In the words of my doctor, “Hard to do PT when you can’t move your neck!”

And for a final horror story, a mass was discovered in the liver of a distance family member this week. Blood work is not good and he needs an MRI as he has been told it is most likely cancer. He’s waiting…and waiting…for approval.

We are no longer in control of our own healthcare.  That whirling, sucking sound you hear is our healthcare system going down the drain. The only way to undo this is at the polls. Make your vote count–Obamacare must be repealed.

Patti is retired from her position as the civilian director of a large Army Information Technology organization. Allen West. The ensuing PolitiChicks article she wrote was picked up by Lt. Col. West's web site as well as several other conservative sites and viewed by thousands. Patti is active in her local area by working elections and attending meet and greet political events. She is a huge advocate of the 2nd amendment, is rarely unarmed, and has strong opinions re gun control laws. Patti and Larry live in Texarkana, TX. They both believe in traveling as much as you can, as far as you can, as long as you can, but Texas will always be home.
