Yes, Hillary’s Benghazi Deception DOES Matter To Americans

If you watched mainstream media coverage following former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s Benghazi hearing, you would assume that she has survived completely unscathed.

In fact, The Washington Post immediately published an article stating, “Eight Reasons Hillary Clinton Won the Benghazi Hearing.”

The article claims, “The GOP landed no solid punches, Clinton looked like a fighter, she rose above the political fray, she became a sympathetic figure when Republicans badgered, she committed no made-for-TV gaffe, she did not seem evasive, she looked presidential, and that the 67-year-old showed impressive stamina.”

Poor innocent little Hillary. The Republicans are so mean and just want to pick on her.

Never mind the fact that she lied to the victims’ family members and to the American public about the attack, had a scapegoat filmmaker thrown in jail, ignored 600 requests for additional security (in Libya), and arrogantly mocks anyone who dares to try to seek the truth.

Democrats will argue that the Benghazi committee was nothing more than a Republican ‘hit job’ or “witch hunt” to target Hillary’s presidential run. Of course, Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s idiotic comments may have indeed, reinforced their argument and discredited the work of Rep. Trey Gowdy’s committee.

Even if that were the case, it still does not excuse the fact that Hillary looked into the grieving eyes of those family members and blatantly lied to them. Just so she could push the Obama administration’s political narrative that “Libya is finally liberated!”— when in fact, the place was going to hell in a hand basket.

So, now that Hillary’s testimony is at last over, maybe Republicans will finally shut up about Benghazi? At least, that’s what the Clinton campaign is hoping. But the victims’ families are far from finished ‘calling out’ the former Secretary of State’s deceptive talking points.  In fact, Charles Woods, the father of Tyrone S. Woods, a CIA contractor killed during the Benghazi attack, accused Hillary Clinton of lying to him and the American people about the circumstances that led to his son’s death. Woods told the Washington Times:

“New evidence presented at a House hearing Thursday showing Mrs. Clinton knew within hours that the attack on Sept. 11, 2012 was a planned and carried out by al-Qaida linked terrorists proved she lied to the victims’ families when she falsely blamed the incident on a spontaneous protest over a U.S.-made anti-Islam video a few days later. 

Mr. Woods also recalled how Mrs. Clinton greeted and consoled him at Andrew Air Force base as the body of his son was returned from Libya.

‘I gave Hillary a hug and shook her hand. And she said ‘we are going to have the filmmaker arrested who is responsible for the death of your son,’ Mr. Woods said.

“Based on her demeanor and body language I knew she wasn’t telling me the truth.”

The sister of slain Benghazi hero Glen Doherty, Kate Quigley, also told CNN’s Anderson Cooper that she previously met with Hillary Clinton and, in retrospect, feels like the Democrat chose to “perpetuate what she knew was not true.”  Quigly told CNN:

“Following the deadly Benghazi terror attacks, Clinton told her family how “sad” they should feel for the Libyan people because they are “uneducated” and that “breeds fear, which breeds violence and leads to a protest. 

I remember thinking at the time, ‘Wow, how selfish of me. I never really thought about the Libyan people, I’ve been consumed with my own grief, and loss, and concern,’” she recalled. “And when I think back now to that day and what she knew, it shows me a lot about her character that she would choose in that moment to basically perpetuate what she knew was untrue.”

How insensitive that Clinton would actually lay a guilt trip on the victims’ families while they were still grief-stricken.  Quigley told Cooper, “It was very strange…I thought about it, and I never spoke about it for a long time.”

Patricia Smith, mother of Benghazi victim Sean Smith, also told Megyn Kelly, “Hillary Clinton’s testimony before the House Select Benghazi Committee revealed that Clinton is a liar.”

Smith noted an email that Clinton wrote on the night of the terror attack, telling her family that an “al Qaeda-like group” had attacked. She explained that destroys the narrative of an anti-Islam video causing the attack, even though Clinton, President Obama, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and others had told her that at her son’s casket ceremony.

When asked about Mrs. Clinton, Smith said, “She lies! Very simple. She is not telling the truth. She’s trying to push her own agenda through.

Michael Ingmire, uncle of Benghazi victim Sean Smith, also told Sean Hannity, “Hillary Clinton is a Serial Liar.”

In summation, the Benghazi hearing reaffirmed what most of us already knew—that Hillary Clinton lied. No surprise there.

But it’s been over three years since the attack, why don’t we all just move on already? As Hillary likes to say, “What difference does it make?” Especially now.

Here are the reasons why Benghazi still matters to all Americans (especially when it comes to the 2016 presidential election):

1.We owe it to the families: The families of Ambassador Stevens, Glen Doherty, Sean Smith, and Tyrone Woods need some closure. If that were my husband, son, brother, or sister, I would personally need to know what happened on that fateful night in Libya. We owe it to these families to seek the truth. Because TRUTH still matters to most Americans.

As a result of last week’s hearing, we now know for certain. Clinton’s personal emails proved that she knew it was a pre-planned terrorist attack all along, and not an uprising caused by an offensive video as she had originally claimed.

2.Lies, lies, and more lies: If Hillary Clinton could so easily lie to the families and to the American people about the attack on the Libyan consulate, what else would she be willing to lie about as our next president? Quite frankly, Americans are really sick and tired of elitist politicians (like her—Democrats and Republicans) lying to our faces and insulting our intelligence.

A recent Quinnipiac University poll already shows Clinton hitting new lows on measures of honesty, favorability and trustworthiness. The Benghazi scandal only reinforces the fact that she is too untrustworthy and unfit to lead this great nation.

3.  A scapegoat filmmaker was thrown in jail. Quite frankly, this should scare the hell out of every single American-that the federal government can throw just about anybody in jail in order to pursue its own political narrative. Just let that sink in awhile.

We can only imagine all the innocent bystanders who will be caught in the crosshairs of a Hillary Clinton administration.

4. 600 requests for security were ignored. Thanks to last week’s Benghazi hearing, we now know that 600 requests for additional security (in Libya) were ignored by Clinton’s State Department. After all, answering those requests would have forced the administration to admit that Libya was not at all the blissful utopia it claimed it had created since the removal of the evil dictator, Muammar Gaddafi. In fact, sending reinforcements would have forced the administration to admit that Libya was being overrun by various terrorist organizations. Hillary chose a political agenda over the life of our ambassador, and that is incredibly shameful.

As our next Commander-in-Chief, will Hillary Clinton also ignore our pleas for more security if (heaven forbid) our homeland was under attack? Would she dismiss our requests for protection (or for the right to simply defend ourselves) if answering them meant it would cost her her own political ambitions?

That fact that she has been calling for more gun control is already proving this very point. Mrs. Clinton dismissed Ambassador Stevens’ pleas for more security in Benghazi, which ultimately led to his death and the death of three other Americans. Therefore, why would she listen to Americans as we request that she respect our Second Amendment? Based on the evidence, we already know she will choose her political ambitions over our inalienable right to self-defense.

Yes, Hillary’s Benghazi deception does matter to most Americans. We are looking for a trustworthy president who actually values the lives (and inalienable rights) of our fellow citizens. Based on what we know about Benghazi, Hillary does not fit the bill.

Of course, she will continue to play “victim” of a Republican ‘hit job,’ and will mock those who dare to seek or speak the truth. Meanwhile, she has only proven herself to be unfit for office. And she has nobody to blame but herself.
