Obama Gives Whole New Meaning to ‘Nuclear Family’
Much has been said about the Obama administration’s Iran nuke deal, leading one to believe that Obama wants to leave his legacy with a very big bang. Unfortunately if Iran gets their nuclear bombs and decides to use them, history books about Obama’s terms won’t be able to be written at all.
It’s amazing that people are willing to believe Iran when they say they will “police themselves” and won’t make nuclear bombs, yet we don’t believe Iran when they threaten “Death to Israel, Death to America.”
Iran has proven time and time again why they’re considered one of the top terrorist sponsored states yet no one in the Obama administration seems to notice. Or care.
On the other hand many people, including 200 retired Military Officers, Generals and Admirals, clearly understand that this deal will make Iran more of a threat. And the DNC ended their summer meeting without a resolution–yet there are still some in Washington who stand with Obama and will vote yes on this bad deal. So far 30 Democrats have promised support.
To be certain, too many concessions have already been made by the U.S. to Iran, including the fact that Iran can build as many bombs as it wants, along with ballistic missiles. (Sure, they’re set for a 10 year deadline, but who’s keeping track…)
People who believe that this deal will ensure “peace” are either forgetting, never learned, or simply don’t care about Iran’s terrorist track record. Here are three reminders.
1. October 23, 1983, there was a bombing in Beirut, Lebanon when Shia suicide bombers detonated truck bombs at two buildings housing U.S. Marines and French forces in Beirut. This attack on the U.S. barracks killed 220 Marines, 18 sailors, and three soldiers–the deadliest day for the Marine Corps since the historic battle at Iwo Jima during World War II. This was part of the multinational force trying to keep peace in war-torn Lebanon.
2. The Wall Street Journal came out with a scathing reminder that Hezbollah member Ahmad Ibrahim al-Mughassil was reputed to be the mastermind of the 1996 Khobar Tower attacks in Saudi Arabia where 19 U.S. airmen were killed. A late ruling in December 2006 by U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth found Iran responsible for the bombing: “The totality of evidence at trial…firmly establishes that the Khobar Towers bombing was planned, funded, and sponsored by senior leadership in the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran… the bomb was built in an IRGC camp in Lebanon and that [Iranian Supreme Leader Ali] Khamenei had approved the operation.”
3. Last month I reminded people about hundreds of U.S. soldiers’ deaths or injuries in Iraq because of Iranian made E.F.P.s. Iran’s Al Quds Commander Qassem Soleimani’s forces in Iraq were trained, equipped, financed and directed to kill American forces.
Most recently Gatestone Institute came out with a more in depth reminder, and warning on why it’s imperative that our Senate votes overwhelmingly no on Obama’s nuke deal.
America and Israel have both been in the Iranian crosshairs for decades and Obama clearly knows the threats Israel faces from the Iranian regime and their proxy, Hezbollah. From the beginning of his administration, Obama has frustrated and insulted Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, and even worked to help Netanyahu’s opponent during the most recent Israeli elections. But all of that pales when it comes to giving Iran, an avowed enemy of both the U.S. and Israel, billions of dollars and allowing their nuclear program to go forward.
Obama knows what the ramifications of this deal could be to Israel, yet recently he addressed American Jews to defend the deal. (Of course while doing so he once again had to declare his “support” for Israel, as if by saying it over and over again makes it so…) Obama called the disagreement over the Iran deal an argument ‘within the family’ and said that he expects “quick improvements in ties” between the U.S. and Israel once the deal is done.
While he jokes about “family disagreements” with Israel, Obama and his administration continually treat “family member Israel” as an outcast to be mocked and humiliated on a regular basis. But would you invite your family’s biggest enemy into your home, knowing they would beat all of you to a pulp if they could?
If this deal goes through, Iran will have money to spend on all sorts of new toys that could make life hell for our smallest family member, Israel, and in time, the United States. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see this, but obviously it takes a progressive politician to ignore it and vote yes.
Over 70 percent of American citizens who are aware of this deal do not want it. Israel doesn’t want this deal. Many in the Middle East don’t want this deal.
But Obama wants this deal, and if he has his way he will be welcoming Iran into what will literally become our very nuclear family.
