Book Review: ‘Liars & Whores’ by Ethan Bearman

PolitiChicks.comTalkers Magazine Heavy Hitter Ethan Bearman’s new book, Liars & Whores: How Big Government and Big Business Are Working to Save their Own Assets, Not Yours (Talkers, 2015) is a must-read for anyone interested in the fundamentals of the intersection of big business, government and politics. An easy-to-follow guide, Bearman’s book should be required reading for all high school and college students who want to better understand why the political class in Washington, DC is broken and out of touch.

As the nation looks toward the 2016 election cycle, Bearman offers a realistic view into the nature of the political-industrial complex that enables powerful politicians to stay in power; businesses to reap millions off the backs of taxpayers; and the lobbyist-politician process to protect their own interests versus those that would benefit all Americans.

Bearman, a successful talk radio host, businessman and Gen-Xer, touches on the hot topics of capitalism, free trade, energy, cybersecurity, and the environment throughout the book. Bearman is able to simplify the most complex of issues in his user-friendly book for anyone to grasp. Bearman is a proponent of Main Street, and condemns the current, business-as-usual climate in Washington. “This system is broken: politicians whore themselves out for the campaign money or to line their pockets, and big businesses and unions are happy to funnel that money to the politicians for the specific agenda they impose while lying to you about how good it is for you,” he writes.

“Money is the main motivation for these liars and whores”, Bearman says, “I may fully support robust competition in business, but I fundamentally abhor corrupted politicians using the power of government to pick winners and losers.”

Liars & Whores is an enjoyable read that this writer heartily recommends.
