How to Stay Fit & Healthy While Traveling

For some, business trips are inevitable with the hustle and bustle and back and forth traveling as their weekly reality.  Air plane food, business lunches, hot dog carts, late night cocktails, hotel snacks… the list goes on. However it is possible to maintain a balanced healthy diet while maneuvering through the daily land mines of temptation while out of your regular routine.

Along with the struggle of maintaining a well balanced meal plan, do you find that it’s nearly impossible to fit in a consistent work out routine? If you find yourself living out of a hotel on an all too regular basis and struggle to stay fit and healthy, then the following tips are especially for you!

1.  Print out and take a variety of workout routines with you. Variety breaks up the monotony and keeps it fun! Workout routines don’t have to be long to be effective; nor do you need machines or equipment. Focus on form and intensity. So long as you are staying active and consistent. Here are 5 great workouts to take with you the next time you find yourself on a week long business trip, or if your hotel doesn’t come equipped with a gym.

2.  A few key tools that are easily downloaded onto your smart phone are the My Fitness Pal app. Keeping a daily journal of your meals helps many stay on track. Not many however, are going to carry around their meal journal, but just about EVERYONE carries around their phone! Another great tool is an interval timer.













3.  The third and possibly the most important tip is to have a back up meal plan and a secret stash.
