VOTERS: Remember This Before America “Goes to Hell in a Handbasket!”

PolitiChicks.comWith the recent ISIS beheadings, and of course, the Ebola epidemic, it’s easy for us to get distracted from the midterm elections this year. Yet, NOW is the time to let our voices be heard.

Poll after poll reveals that Americans are not very optimistic about the future of our nation. In fact, many voters say, “Things are going to hell in a handbasket.”

According to a recent Fox News poll, 58 percent of voters feel things in the world are “going to hell in a handbasket.” That includes nearly half of Democrats (48 percent) and majorities of independents (61 percent) and Republicans (71 percent).

Meanwhile, by a 61-36 percent margin, voters say they don’t feel hopeful about the direction of the country. That’s a reversal from 2012 when 57 percent felt hopeful.

One of the reasons Americans are feeling so pessimistic these days is because we don’t really feel very safe.

First of all, we see how our wide-open borders are giving way to illegal immigrant children being dumped into our neighborhoods. Aside from the enormous financial burden, many of these children have not been thoroughly examined for diseases or serious illnesses. Like we don’t have enough to worry about as it is, we also have to be concerned about our own children getting sick from ones who aren’t even supposed to be here.

Not to mention the dangerous criminals, drug cartels and terrorists who are pouring into our country while border agents are busy babysitting these illegal immigrant children.

Aside from the border crisis, Washington D.C. appears to be suffering from some freaky “political correctness” disease where all its common sense has been completely replaced by utter insanity. When an administration chooses to call a terrorist attack “workplace violence” just to spare the feelings of terrorists, our leaders don’t really care to protect citizens from these dangerous savages. In fact, when D.C does more to protect us from a name of an NFL team, we know that political correctness has run amok.

Government has a moral obligation to protect its citizens from foreign threats. Our current leadership has failed us here, and we all know it. So, as we head to the polls in the next few days, I know many of us are looking for leaders who are actually serious about defending this nation– candidates who are ready to: secure the borders, rebuild our military (that has been gutted and completely demoralized by the Obama administration) and candidates who refuse to bow down to the altar of political correctness.

If nothing else, I know many of us are looking for candidates who will at least protect our right to defend our own families. I know that I am personally sick of politicians who exploit every crisis to try and take our Second Amendment right away.

Secondly, Jobs, Jobs, Jobs! While the White House likes to tout that our economy is in recovery, that’s simply not the case. Especially when it comes to jobs. The falling unemployment numbers being reported at 6.2%, down from nearly 10% four years earlier, is very misleading. In fact, according to Forbes, the real unemployment rate is actually closer to 12.6%:

“Despite the significant decrease in the official U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) unemployment rate, the real unemployment rate is over double that at 12.6%. This number reflects the government’s “U-6” report, which accounts for the full unemployment picture including those “marginally attached to the labor force,” plus those “employed part time for economic reasons.”

And how about the millions of Americans who have been squeezed out of the labor market? The following is a chart that represents the labor participation rate since 2004:

PolitiChicks.comThat’s why voters are looking for candidates who understand and appreciate the value of our nation’s job producers. For the past six years, we’ve had to deal with elitist demagogues demonizing, overtaxing, and over-regulating our job creators out of the country or completely out of business. The sooner we unleash the shackles from the private sector, the sooner they can do what they do best—creating jobs for our fellow Americans.

Also, lest we forget about the infamous disaster known as “Obamacare”—from the website glitches, to the premium hikes, to losing access to our favorite doctors, to the millions of Americans who have been kicked off their preferred healthcare plans.

In fact, The Washington Times recently reported,  “The Affordable Care Act was supposed to make health care more affordable, but a study of insurance policies before and after Obamacare shows that average premiums have skyrocketed, for some groups by as much as 78 percent.”

So much for affordable.

Patients are miserable. Healthcare workers are miserable. Doctors are miserable. But, what did we expect from a law that hijacked one-sixth of the U.S. economy? And we haven’t even scratched the surface of it yet. Just wait until after the November elections when more of its onerous mandates go into effect.

Of course, we still have an opportunity to stop Obamacare in its tracks…by voting for candidates who are ready to replace it with patient-centered solutions.

Lastly, it’s no wonder voters feel like ‘things are going to hell in handbasket’ here in the U.S. when the ‘powers that be’ have been riddled with scandal after scandal, without much resolve. Nobody seems to ever be held accountable in Washington, and Americans are so sick of being lied to, stonewalled and completely ignored.

That’s why it’s time to change things up a bit– from state to state, all the way up to Washington. Don’t forget to get out and vote this week!

Remember this before America really does ‘go to hell in a handbasket’:  It’s literally our duty to keep our country from going there! It’s our responsibility to get to polls and change the direction of our nation by changing our leadership. If you don’t vote, don’t be complaining about where we are all headed.

So tomorrow, November 4, get out and vote!! Do it for your country. Do it for your kids and grandkids.
