Welcome to My Bedroom Gym!

The gym is somewhere I haven’t visited in over 20 years. The thought of loading up my stuff, saying goodbye to my family, enduring the smell of a humid gym- let alone paying for it all- just makes me wince.
For many, the gym is a place to unwind, to blow off steam, to let it all go. For some it’s a place where they go to make some serious changes. I suppose if I ever decide to take on the endeavor of a competing figure model then a gym membership would be in the cards.
What I discovered is that I’m pretty content with my 5 and 8 pound dumbbells, worn out cut offs and stability ball. People are constantly asking me what I do to get legs like I have…but they have a hard time believing my story.
My bedroom has all I need to get a good work out. If working out at home is all you can do, don’t let that deter you. Clear some space and get your dumbbells out! Don’t have much time? That’s okay too. As a homeschooling mom I have set my priorities on my kids. So while they are doing their silent reading I get my 30 minutes in, 3-4 times a week.
Consistency is key. Keep a journal. Set a goal. Get some help. Speak to a friend about your goals. Don’t let your circumstances dictate your reality. YOU are the HERO of your story!
Resolve today to make a change for yourself. A healthier you is a happier you. A happier you makes for a happier home (just ask my children) and isn’t that what we ultimately want? Don’t feel guilty for taking time out for yourself. In order to be the best for your family you have to work on yourself.
Remember we are here for you if you need a listening ear. And this we will do dear friends, because that’s what we do around here…we show the love of Christ at every turn. We invest in people.
Until next time!
