Want To Be the Best You Can Be? StrongCamp Might Be Your Answer!

Hashtags are pretty handy. They have been used quite neatly and have been helpful in popularizing ideas, people and events. It’s fun to hashtag one of your selfies later to find it in a virtual file tucked away with the likes of #LukeBryan #StrongSisters #Besties. When you look up #StrongCamp you’ll find a great collection of amazing beauties.
Attending a StrongCamp weekend was the first concrete move I made towards achieving my new life. However, the first step was to call a dear friend and profess what I was intending to do; I was going to STOP making excuses! Honestly making that call wasn’t easy, I had to be honest and open with my fears. I was so nervous and my voice was shaky, but once I got off the phone I felt instant energy and power. I felt as if I had just slain a giant! #justslainagoliath
God is so good. He certainly gives us the desires of our heart. As I began to pursue my dream, I took steps of faith and God opened the doors. One of them was into the StrongCamp family.
The health and fitness field is full of accomplished individuals that start out just like you and I. They have set their eyes on the goal and work tirelessly to attain their prize. Some would call this lifestyle simply vain. I attest that this isn’t always the case.
Sitting in a room with other likeminded women that have beating hearts just like mine, shed tears, have struggles and desires that women all have in common; I learned so much about what makes this sport more about a healthy soul than a fit body.
The weekend at StrongCamp was indeed a work out for the soul. Yes, Jessie ran us through a kick butt crossfit workout–my first one ever—and one which caused me to set a goal of being able to do 10 pull-ups, unassisted! She discussed and answered all our nutritional concerns. Jessie covered the importance of having a strong foundational knowledge of exercises in order to eliminate injury and make the most of your workouts. But most importantly Jessie was able to convey so sweetly that each one of us was special, and that it’s not in getting a trophy that matters, but that we live a healthy life and that we stand tall and strong. Forgiveness of my past was my take away from this event; to love myself.  To live Strong is the message of the StrongCamp family. They hit the nail on the head.
Jessie Hilgenberg is a highly accomplished fitness model and competitor. She graces fitness magazines, is a sponsored athlete, and StrongCamp Boot Camp Director (just to name a few). Her drive and tenacity are an inspiration to many followers.
Owner of Strong Fitness Magazine, Paul Buceta- also a brilliant photographer, covered the entire event which was featured in the June issue of the magazine. It will be an honor to one day to be featured in his magazine. His photographic eye is the best I’ve ever known.
November 7-9 Strong Camp will be in Jessie’s hometown of Phoenix, AZ. This will be my second StrongCamp and I’m beyond excited to return and do it all over again. I set this as a short-term goal, along with being photo-ready, and being able to do 10 un-assisted pull-ups. Once I return from StrongCamp I will then set a new list of goals and I will work hard to meet them!
Dear friends, what goals do you have? Do you have a set of goals? Have you written them down? Have you told a friend? Is one of your goals to get fit? Don’t be afraid of the unknown, we’re here for you! Because if you haven’t heard, that’s what we do around here at PolitiChicks.com….we show the love of Christ at every turn. We invest in people.
Until next time, all my best.
