Democrat to Tim Donnelly: Don’t Question Me!
There is a video being shared on social media that should make every citizen of this country alert to the direction of the Democrats when it comes to illegal immigration.
We expect our elected officials to ask the tough questions and to represent their constituents. California State Assemblyman Tim Donnelly (R-Twin Peaks) did exactly that on the floor of his state’s assembly. However, he was given no answer to a very simple but important question regarding immigration during a recent debate.
Donnelly was stating his objections to the State Bill 1159 that would reward illegals by allowing a Tax Identification Number to be used in place of a Social Security Number. The text of the bill states, “The bill would prohibit, except as specified, any entity within the department from denying licensure to an applicant based on his or her citizenship status or immigration status. The bill would require every board within the department to implement regulatory and procedural changes necessary to implement these provisions no later than January 1, 2016, and would authorize implementation at any time prior to that date.”
“The purpose is to allow those in the country illegally to get licenses issued by the state to practice in various professions,” Donnelly stated on his Facebook page. He further commented regarding the goal of the bill, “This has everything to do with erasing every barrier for illegals, until there’s no point in immigrating legally anymore.”
Mr. Donnelly questioned the author of the bill, Lorena Gonzalez (San Diego-D), with the following question: “Do you believe there ought to be any limit or any line between immigrants who come here legally and immigrants who come here illegally?”
Ms. Gonzalez was completely silent and refused to answer the question.
This view into the California State Assembly is the direction that Democrats are taking this country in regards to illegal immigration. They do not want reform, they do not want limits of any kind, and the hard working citizens of this country who pay taxes will be replaced by those who are given a free pass.
Ms. Gonzalez gave a closing statement before the bill was voted on. She “thanked” Assemblyman Donnelly with the following biting remark, “I am going to pray for him…and that humanity reaches his heart (with a glaring stare).”
The bill was voted and passed.
Assemblyman Donnelly asked a simple question and represented his party’s platform in regards to immigration and the opposition to a California State Bill. However, the Democrats response was silence. California taxpayers are paying their elected officials to continue to allow illegal immigrants to break the law and they even refuse to answer opposing party’s challenges. What’s the point of the political process?
Tim Donnelly who recently campaigned as the Republican candidate for Governor in California is leaving his office in November. However, I hope we will see more of Donnelly in the future. He exemplifies what is needed in the Republican Party. A politician who asks the questions on behalf of the people, stands up for principles, but more importantly defends our Constitution.
