Coming Soon: Ruthie’s Weekly Sports Roundup

PolitiChicks.comFor all of you sports nuts, one of our exciting new topics at PolitiChicks.com will feature a weekly sports column written by me, your Nevada PolitiChick Ruthie Thompson. As many of my Twitter and Facebook followers know, I am not only a “political junkie,” but I am also a full-on sports nut as well. I was very active in sports in my youth, including track, where I competed in mile and 2-mile track meets. I played on the basketball team in both middle school and high school, and I was also on the first ever women’s softball team at my school, in which we ended up winning the entire season. (Quite the accomplishment for our school’s very first team!)

So join me every Friday in the Hollywood & Culture section of PolitiChicks.com, where I will be recapping all the sports news and highlights from the previous week–and if you have anything sports-related you’d like me to cover, please drop me a message in the comment section below and I’ll get back to you asap.

Ruthie Thompson

Nevada PolitiChick Ruthie Thompson moved to Reno, NV at age 19, married, had two children, divorced and spent many years as a single mother. She continued to follow the political world closely and started engaging in grassroots activities, volunteering at the local GOP HQ. She has volunteered for many campaigns, working events, knocking on doors, making phone calls and attending political rallies and Tea Parties. Ruthie traveled to DC for the 9/12 rally and even to southern Nevada for the Showdown at Searchlight, home of Harry Reid. She attended the Leadership Institute in Arlington, VA where she studied every aspect of running a successful campaign--but her true passion is writing.
