Donors of Border Convoy Targeted by Latina Organizers

PolitiChicks.comPolitiChicks.comSomos Independentes (translated to We are Independents) published an article with names of donors who donated to the Border Convoy.  According to the group, the convoy is a financial scam that seeks to spread an anti-immigrant agenda.

The article cites a Fundly account put together by Grassfire.com, the main sponsor of the convoy, as well as a post from the Border Convoy Facebook page.

Which Candidate Do You Support in the Republican Primaries?

Here are their claims:

1)    “The convoy is pushing an anti-immigrant message.”

Uhhh…just because someone is for securing the border doesn’t mean they’re anti-immigrant. Talk to any of the people in Murrieta and you’ll quickly discover just how compassionate and caring this community is. I should also note that many legal immigrants support the message of those who stood up to the Feds and the message of the convoy.

2)    “We will be calling the IRS, and the FBI with regard to donations they are receiving.”

I’m sure the IRS would love to target another conservative-leaning group. We all know they’re the most credible federal agency. As far as the FBI goes…what do they have to do with anything? I fail to see their connection. Someone should enlighten me.

3)    “The US Border Patrol is not supposed to be receiving any financial exchanges from special interest groups because it is a direct conflict of interest.”

No one is giving financial support to the Border Patrol agents. The purpose of the convoy is to bring attention to the border issues and to let agents know we emotionally support them for their job they’re doing. These people are our friends, neighbors and members of our law enforcement. They deserve the upmost respect.

The worst part of this whole “article” is the fact that it’s not even an article–it is is a hit piece. They are basically (albeit indirectly) telling their followers to harass the people on that list.

This is what America has come to. You try to defend your country and your Constitutional rights and you’re named an extremist who is full of hate.

I now know why our society is so apathetic…Fear. The fear of being targeted. The fear of having your family threatened. The fear of losing your job.
