Understanding the Threat of Islam: Interview with John Guandolo

On one hand it is to silence all factual and evidence related information from getting out, especially to the people that need it, like FBI agents, CIA analysts, etc. and at the same time there is a political warfare information operations going on—putting out specifically a counter factual narrative about what the threat is and isn’t. We see the effects of that because we fought two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq where our military absolutely crushed the enemy and yet we came home without victory. As a matter of fact, our government actually wrote constitutions in those two nations that created Islamic Republics under Sharia. We did that.
So today in the Department of Defense, FBI, CIA and the DHS, any courses, any training programs that detailed the Muslim Brotherhood network and detailed what Sharia actually is has been completely shut down. On the one hand, fact-based threat analysis is out and their narrative, and we’ve demonstrated it time and time again, is completely counter factual.
It’s huge because it is affecting policies, strategic policies and foreign policies and it’s how they fight the wars. The evidence and fruit of that is this current administration—financially and materially—backed Al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood against Muammar Gaddafi in Libya and currently what we’re doing in Syria and the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.
LS: For our readers, is radical Islam fundamental Islam?
JG: Let me say this. They [Muslims] don’t use the terms “radical” or “moderate” anywhere in their writings. If we look at the three closest allies we have in the Arab world, besides Israel, I think most people would say Turkey, Egypt and Jordan perhaps. All of those have gone to the Muslim Brotherhood and obviously Egypt has gone back. Both of the leaders of Turkey and Jordan (King Hussein) said publicly that there is no such thing as moderate Islam and there is no such thing as radical Islam—there’s just Islam.
I spoke this morning to a group of a little over 120 students and one of them asked a question about radical Islam. I asked him, “Can you tell me what that is?” He kind of gave me a funny look. I just said, “Explain to me what that is,” and he said, “Well—you know—that’s the other version of Islam that’s violent.” I asked him where I could find that because if you get down to the roots, 100% of Sharia Islamic Law and 100% of all published Islamic Law obliges Jihad until the entire world is under Islamic Law, and it’s only 100% of Islamic Law only defines Jihad as warfare against non-Muslims. So when you can show, if you can take every comment that Al-Qaeda has ever made where they’ve quoted Islamic Law, they’ve never misquoted Islamic Law in reference to what they’re doing, and that completely changes our understanding of what we’re doing. That’s what we’re up against.
LS: Do you know how many Jihadists’ training camps are in America?
JG: Well, we’ve had up to as many as several dozen. We know they’ve been here since the 1980s. Today there are at least a couple of dozen operating that we’re aware of. We know they —are also training inside Islamic centers and mosques across the country as well weapons training and things like that, at least in some of them. So we’ve got that going on and since we’re getting close to 2200 Islamic centers and mosques in the United States, only 20% of them were operating like that, but the number is probably a lot higher.
