The subject line of the e-mail is “Unaccompanied Children Facilities Information” and following are the Unaccompanied Children Sheltering Requirements:
Overall Needs:
- Within 50 miles of major city (Pop ~200K) / airport
- Available for lease
- Able to be fenced or have adequate security
Fixed Structure Needs:
- 90,000 or more square feet of open space (80 sq ft per resident required)
- Unoccupied
- Climate controlled preferred
- Move-in ready
- ADA and NEPA compliant
- Possible building types:
o Office space
o Warehouse
o Big box store
o Shopping mall with interior concourse
o Event venues
o Hotel or dorms
o Aircraft hangers
- Outside space available for wrap-around services if needed
o Staging areas for shower/restroom/laundry/kitchen trailers, etc
Showers & Toilets preferable
Kitchen / cafeteria space preferred, not necessary
Recreational space preferred, not necessary
Classroom space preferred, not necessary
Leasable
I spoke to California Assemblyman Tim Donnelly about this e-mail and he said he never received it nor did any of his Republican colleagues.
Sources say there is currently no violent activity at the Murrieta CA Border Station “other than some shouting and name-calling”. More updates as they occur.
