Chicago Public Schools Introduces “Afro-Centric Curriculum” That Calls U.S. A “Zionist-occupied enemy territory”

Chicago Public Schools is at it again. Yes, the same CPS that Arne Duncan destroyed before moving on to bigger and better things to ruin.

Chicago schools are in the news quite a bit and usually it’s bad news. Strikes, Karen Lewis and Rahm Emanuel shutting down  50 schools.

Here comes some more news from the great Windy City. Remember the sex ed for Kindergartners mandated in Chicago last year? Along comes something to top (sorta) that!

Introducing the new “Afro-centric curriculum.” A very closely guarded document obtained by The Daily Caller includes a link to TheAfrican.com whose publisher decries “fake-Jews” and calls the United States a “Zionist-occupied enemy territory.”

The news about the new curriculum was released in December of 2013 and was designed to align with the Common Core. The curriculum covers Kindergarten through 10th grade.

Annette Gurley, CPS chief officer of teaching and learning told the Chicago Tribune last year that “…the curriculum will go beyond the obvious subjects of slavery and civil rights, delving into the contributions of people of African and African-American heritage at the local, national and global level.”

“The law said it had to be one unit devoted to the history of African-Americans,” Gurley said. “What we’ve done is we’ve taken it throughout the year for all subjects, not just one subject.”

So it will be utilized in all of the core areas including English Language Arts and Math.

What’s perhaps even more interesting is that the district is also going to be developing Latin and Latin American curriculum for the largest group of students at CPS, which happen to be of Hispanic heritage.

This curriculum is destined to screw up students perceptions of history when one of the controversial subjects to be used regards a book written by Martin Bernal called The Black Athena.

In the book Bernal makes false claims such as the Greeks stole much of civilization from Egypt, which was largely populated with black people.

The program has been dubbed IAAAS and involves so many controversial subjects it could only ever work in some place like Chicago where the head of the teachers’ union, Karen Lewis, who touts Social Justice in math, reigns supreme.

This 8th grade lesson taken from The Daily Caller should be exactly what someone like Lewis and her supporters are looking for:

The eighth grade literacy section unit, titled “Being an Advocate to Social Justice,” directs students to the website for the American Civil Liberties Union. It also includes a poem titled “Racism is Around Me Everywhere,” cartoons from the website LeftyCartoons.com, and it encourages discussion of Attorney General Eric Holder’s infamous “nation of cowards” quote.

While this curriculum does, admittedly, have much historically accurate information, it also includes the controversial and wrong areas that are sure to be the ones the children most remember.

I’ll be the jerk here and ask the question: “When do the white children get a Caucasian-centric curriculum?” Or, is that called, “all curriculum ever written,” by the progressives?

I’m fairly certain that most curriculum that discusses Caucasians does not elevate the white person above another race and had better be historically accurate so as not to insight the fury of a Social Justice magnate.
