Only 12 and She Gives a Life Saving Speech (Video)

UntitledLia Mills did not set out to change the world, only a few minds at her schools speech competition. She had selected the topic Pro-Life as the subject of her upcoming speech but her Pro-Choice teacher told her she would not be allowed to give this speech to the school and would have to change topics. Lia, did not change…her teacher changed and Lia gave that speech.

Then, the teacher told her she would have to change a line in her speech about God before she could present it to the school. Again, Lia prayed and returned with the response that she could not change that line…and once more, the teacher changed her mind. Lia gave this speech in 2009 but it took several years before it made its way to the internet. Now Lia’s speech has gone viral and the life of at least one baby has been spared.

Lia closed her speech with a quote from the story of Horton Hears a Who.

Lia says, “Remember what Horton said…you know that elephant who risked his life to save that little speck…remember him and his famous quote, ‘Even though you can’t see them or hear them at all, a person is a person no matter how small’…thank you.”

Watch her speech below and be amazed…she may be small but her speech is huge!
