A Clinton Presidency: A Continuation of Obama’s Disastrous Foreign Policies

News has been released recently about Hillary Clinton and her “pay to play” scheme during her tenure as Secretary of State. The Washington Post reported that early in her term Clinton pressured the Russian government to buy dozens of aircraft from Boeing, a contract worth millions of dollars. During Clinton’s October 2009 visit to Russia she was supposed be there to address situations with Iran but her top priority instead was Boeing’s interest in selling planes for use by a new state-owned Russian airline and even claimed “This is a shameless pitch for Rosavia . . . to buy Boeing aircraft,” while touring a Boeing facility in Moscow.

Boeing had been on a list of companies to be avoided at the State Department because of their reliance on the government in the past for help negotiating overseas business and concerns that donations could be seen as an attempt to gain favor with U.S. officials. It seems as though the State Department under Clinton had set aside ethics guidelines that disallowed requests of Boeing and permitted a $1 million gift from the company.

This was also a deal which helped boost funding for a pavilion at the Shanghai World’s Fair, which at the time was in trouble with severe lack of corporate participation and funding, and the Chinese warning that a skimpy U.S. participation would be viewed as a ‘diplomatic affront.’

According to the President of the nonprofit USA Pavilion at the time, “We had no money and no working capital… No bank would invest in us.”

Hillary began pouring personal and political capital into an appeal to bring in $60 million from more than 60 major corporations.  Only problem was, that the State Department ruled out soliciting Boeing and other large firms and banks that had received federal bailouts with significant business relationships with the government. The list included banks that had received federal bailouts and the nonprofit president, Nick Winslow admitted that “About half of [the names on the list] came back with an ‘X’ through it… Boeing was one of them. We weren’t even allowed to talk to them.”

An appeal from Winslow and others involved in the project however gave them a new ruling in the case, the State Department claimed since there was no direct conflict of interest, the expo could accept a donation from the company, but only up to $1 million.

On Nov. 16, 2009, however, Clinton herself announced that Boeing would give $2 million rather than the $1 million maximum that had been set as she toured the pavilion site. Earlier the same day, she visited a Boeing hangar in Shanghai and addressed executives from Boeing and other companies to stress the importance of the project.

No one seemed to know why Clinton changed the cap and none of those involved, including two top fundraisers from Clinton’s 2008 campaign and a longtime Clinton political aide would comment.

Clinton’s maneuvering to make a deal with the Russians for Boeing aircraft which ended up being worth a $3.7 million contract. The deal also gained $900,000.00 in donations to the William J. Clinton Foundation, which is led by the Clintons and daughter Chelsea.

It could have been a sweet deal for Clinton as more talk of a presidential run comes out, and ties with powerful corporations which she’s used while in the State Department could help financially in any future campaigns as she cashes in the chips for favors she granted as Secretary of State.

Of course her spokesman said that the deal was above board, something good for American interests by government and corporate cooperation to create jobs, yet the timing of the deals is a little too perfect. Besides, Boeing’s ties came into play again recently when company lobbyist, former Bill Clinton aide Tim Keating, co-hosted a fundraiser for Ready for Hillary, the super PAC backing her potential presidential run.

According to the Washington Post article, Clinton and other American officials saw the potential Boeing deal offered as an “enticing symbol of warming U.S.-Russian relations as part of a diplomatic “reset” announced in the spring of 2009.”  We now see how well that’s worked out.

The implications of these actions by Hillary Clinton are huge, if anyone pays attention.  There has been little mentioned about it in the mainstream news however, and many Clinton supporters will claim that there is nothing to see here and this could be another in a long list of non stories on her way to her bid for the White House.

When I think of Hillary Clinton, character traits such as ethics, integrity and leadership are nowhere on the radar.

In researching this story, another name popped up, Thomas Pickering, who was Senior VP, International Relations and member of the Executive Council of The Boeing Company , who served in the position for a little over five years between 2001 and 2007. He was responsible for The Boeing Company’s relations with foreign governments and its globalization during the GW Bush Administration.  He is also a good friend of Hillary Clinton.

What’s so important about Pickering? For one, if his name sounds familiar, it was he along with former Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mike Mullen who headed up the Oversight and Government Reform Committee which investigated the State Departments’ role during the time leading up to the Benghazi attack. According to an article in Front Page, it was Clinton who picked Pickering to head up the Committee. Pickering is not only a good friend of Hillary’s which is a conflict of interest, especially considering that the Advisory panel found that “Systemic failures and leadership and management deficiencies at senior levels within two bureaus of the State Department resulted in a Special Mission security posture that was inadequate for Benghazi and grossly inadequate to deal with the attack that took place.” Clinton herself was never held accountable.

Last year, Clinton was touted as ‘saving’ the Middle East, managing a cease fire between Palestinians and Israel which was sponsored by Egypt.  Egypt as we know was a major issue for both Obama and Clinton when they toppled the Mubarak regime and propped up Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohamed Morsi as interim President.  The Brotherhood had not been designated in the US as a Terrorist group, but was closely watched and mistrusted by the US, until around 2010/11. Then Secretary of State Clinton and other officials had previously expressed concern that the uprising in Egypt could shift power to an Islamist government. So what changed?

Part of it could be Robert Malley, from the Bill Clinton administration said, “I do think that having contacts with the Muslim Brotherhood was not a bad idea…They are an important constituency in Egypt. They’re very likely to play a role in any future arrangements there.”

Malley had served on the Board of the The International Crisis Group which is made up of numerous Marxist and socialist sympathizers organizations which is funded by George Soros’ Open Society Institute. The ICG also has board members including Bill Clinton’s former National Security Officer Sandy Burger, George Soros and Thomas Pickering who is currently the co-chair.  Pickering, known as an Iranian sympathizer is also chairman of the American Academy of Diplomacy, and a member of the board of advisors of the Global Panel Foundation and also serves on the board of directors for the American Iranian Council and is a speaker for the Campaign for a New American Policy On Iran (CNAPI), which has opposed a U.S. invasion of Iran as a means of stopping Tehran’s leaders from developing nuclear weapons.

The Foreign policies of the Obama Administration have been dangerous for our country and our military, disastrous and treasonous.  Hillary Clinton may not be Secretary of State anymore, but she’s still tied in through numerous networks, organizations and through the Clinton Foundation.  All of these people have served with or under the Clintons in the past or are tied to them through foundations; all of them in some capacity have direct or non-direct impact on the US Foreign policies.

I have written about connections between Islamic groups, the Clintons and Obama.  The William J. Clinton Foundation, which received money from Boeing from the deal Hillary made while Secretary of State, has numerous ties to Islamic groups, terrorist organizations and has received funding from people with terrorist ties.

These are just more dots connected, showing that should Hillary Clinton run for President in 2016, she will be nothing but a continuation of Obama’s promised transformation.  I can only hope enough people who may think Hillary would be a fresh and historical choice- our first Woman President, will wake up and realize that making History isn’t necessarily a good thing, and in this case the transformation would finally bring about the United States’ destruction.
