Trey Gowdy: Yet Another Reason for Liberty Lovers to Love South Carolina

Pristine beaches, beauties in bikinis, water sports, mild winters, Southern hospitality, tourism, sweet tea, majestic oak trees, Spanish moss, rich Revolutionary and Civil War history, the fantastic Charleston harbor, beautiful plantations, bountiful fishing, golfing, yummy BBQ, shrimp and grits, Conservative values, and love for our military—all the many treats that make South Carolina a beloved place to reside or to visit.
Yet, South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy sure just gave all liberty-loving Americans another reason to love our Palmetto State.
Congressman Trey Gowdy had his epic “Patrick Henry” moment on the floor of Congress last week that may have actually been a defining moment for our nation. During his emotional pitch to persuade Congress to pass the Enforce the Law Act, Gowdy reminded Congress of its job AND the job of the president.
He exclaimed:
While you are free to stand when any president comes into this hallowed chamber and promises to do it with or without you, I will NEVER stand and clap when ANY president, whether it’s your party or mine, promises to make us a Constitutional anomaly and an overthought. We make laws!
Needless to say, the Enforce the Law Act did indeed pass, clearing the House by 233 to 181 vote.
