Restaurants Add Surcharge To Pay For Obamacare

A couple of weeks ago, it was revealed that a popular L.A. restaurant was adding a surcharge to the tabs of their patrons in order to ease the cost of Obamacare. The Republique’s 3% surcharge has gained mixed reactions. Remember that we are talking about the liberal L.A. area so some support would be expected. Reactions from customers range from, “It’s not my responsibility to take care of your employee’s healthcare.. that’s your job” to “ I think it’s important that everybody has healthcare within the restaurants.” According to the restaurant’s owners, the customer has the option to remove the surcharge out of the gratuity if they don’t want to pay it.
I don’t know about you, but I’m not inclined to help liberal California pay for Obamacare especially when they consistently vote for Democrat policies. At some point, their votes need consequences.
Today, I came across this. Another restaurant, this time in Florida, is adding a 1% surcharge to their patron’s tabs to – yep, once again, help them ease their pain from Obamacare.
