Now That Pot is Becoming Legal, Next Up: “Medicinal” LSD?

Human hand with medicine pill. Horizontal. The left never ceases to amaze, and at least that’s one good trait in their favor.  While Putin is attacking Ukraine and airplanes seemingly vanish into thin air, Obama is golfing and his wife desires to take control of my eating habits.   And at the same time, the U.S Food and Drug Administration has approved a study of the effects of LSD-assisted therapy for terminally ill people.

Lysergic Acid Diethylamide, or commonly known as LSD, is a hallucinogenic drug manufactured from lysergic acid, a chemical derived from a specific type of fungus.  From what I’ve read, although LSD is supposedly not a drug one gets physically addicted to, users become dependent psychologically.  LSD is an “unpredictable drug” in which users need to take more the next time to emulate the “trip” from the first use.

This study, using my tax dollars, is meant to “ease apprehension and concerns” about death.  One of the researchers stated the drug “has a place in the medical community” and hopes to eventually have LSD as a prescribed medicine.

Who are these researchers, rejects from the 60’s?  Suggesting we allow this type of drug to be used as medicine (ala marijuana) is a very dangerous and slippery slope.  One question to ask ourselves is why does there seem to be a need to legalize and condone immoral and inappropriate behavior?  The graveyards and rehabs are full of people who wanted to have a “trip” just to see what it was like.  Stop the madness and let’s learn to live in reality for a change.

Barbara Cook

Barbara J. Cook (Cookie) is enjoying living in the panhandle of Florida educating special needs children in a middle school (ask her about it sometime!). In order to de-stress, Barbara runs, reads, and writes, and yes, she cooks too: http://recipesbycooki.blogspot.com/ (that's another reason she runs!) She lives with her Mr. Cookie and chickens, dogs, cats and various others. Growing up in Europe as a child and spending several years as a military wife, Cookie learned to appreciate and respect diversity in people choosing to live by the phrase, agree to disagree. What is important to Cookie is family, faith, and fun. Cookie is involved in PolitiChicks because she says 'if we don't, who will?'
