NAZI Themed Party Hosted in Minneapolis

Minneapolis is out to make a name for itself! Just a week ago the city Hall hosted “Hijab Day” and even had their Chief of Police get in on the act…even though she is openly gay. Now, it seems the Minneapolis folks have decided that there is nothing quite like dressing up in your best Nazi uniform and surrounding yourselves with the Nazi flag, while indulging in some delicious German food.
To be fair, the re-enactment has been going on for the past 16 years according to The Times of Israel, who covered the story. A member of the WWII re-enactment group explained the gathering with the following,
“If you wear a German uniform or a Nazi uniform, it’s not like you’re saying, ‘I think Hitler was super cool’ or ‘I hate Jews’ or ‘I hate gays’ or ‘I hate Democrats.” Jon Boorom continued his explanation of the event by adding, “It’s the same as wanting to be the bad guy when you’re playing cowboys and Indians. There’s an attraction to the bad side.”
For anyone concerned that these members may actually be covering their true Anti-Semitic beliefs, Mr. Boorom assured reporters that, “The society does extensive background checks on members to ensure they have no racist or anti-Semitic views.” Interestingly, he did not clarify what society and as it turns out the WWII Historical Re-enactment Society denied ever having been affiliated with the party or the attendees.
