Indiana Says Goodbye to Common Core

Women-sign-CROPPED-940x626One down and 45 to go, but hurray for Indiana for saying NO to Common Core! On the outside, Common Core may sound splendid because a child can move from county to county or state to state and still learn the same materials.  However when parents and teachers really delve into the layers of CC, they soon discover a watered down curriculum encumbered with lies and a change in the history books.  Not to mention some very questionable topics.  Thankfully, due to the many loud voices of parents and teachers, people are aware of the socialistic ideas behind Common Core.

Jim Stergios, executive director of the nonpartisan, Boston-based think tank Pioneer Institute, said the Hoosier State’s move could ‘open the floodgates.’ Indiana, under [Republican Gov.] Mitch Daniels, was one of the early proponents of Common Core, even the poster child,” Stergios told. “By pulling out, it sends a strong signal to other states, particularly red states, that, ‘Hey, if they can do this, then why can’t we?'”

Indiana, my hat goes off to you and we will see many more states follow suit.  And yes, and Michelle Malkin are  correct with their disdain for Jeb Bush and Common Core.

Barbara J. Cook (Cookie) is enjoying living in the panhandle of Florida educating special needs children in a middle school (ask her about it sometime!). In order to de-stress, Barbara runs, reads, and writes, and yes, she cooks too: (that's another reason she runs!) She lives with her Mr. Cookie and chickens, dogs, cats and various others. Growing up in Europe as a child and spending several years as a military wife, Cookie learned to appreciate and respect diversity in people choosing to live by the phrase, agree to disagree. What is important to Cookie is family, faith, and fun. Cookie is involved in PolitiChicks because she says 'if we don't, who will?' Visit her website at: and
