Congressmen, Where are You?

Initially the situation in the little community where I live was aggravating; now it has blossomed into full-blown dangerous and alarming to the point that I fear impending tragedy. 

I live in a rural area through which runs a 2-lane State road that is quite busy at certain times of the day.  The gentle country setting that has been called home by many for unnumbered generations is a double-edged sword that has lulled its inhabitants into a false sense of security by offering comfort and unbreachable safety to its residents on one side of the sword… and heretofore unimagined danger and life-changing heartbreak on the other.

Here is the problem:  Children are playing in the State road that I mentioned.  In the beginning a ball would go across the road closely followed by a child; now the kids are skateboarding or riding bicycles in the road. Our terrain is hilly and curvy, and the first time I met a skateboarder coming toward me in my lane put my heart in my throat for an hour.

The parents do not see the danger because “We played baseball in the road when we were kids.”  Besides, those parents are too busy rearranging the sock drawer to keep an eye on their children.  Even local law enforcement brushed me off. Regardless– the danger remains, and one day a child will be killed on the very road that has always been safe. This will indeed happen because when parents dropped their guard, even those with power and authority (law enforcement officers whose job is Public Safety) did nothing.

This situation in my community parallels what is happening in America today.   So many people seem to believe that because they have always been free they will always be free. But that is a dangerous and foolish way to view life because the way of the world has always been oppression and tyranny– until the United States was founded just over 200 years ago.  When liberty is not diligently protected and defended, it degenerates.

Our Representatives and Senators are our gatekeepers; each of them swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States and that alone is their primary responsibility.   Just like parents who are too busy to keep their own children safe, I have no interest or patience with protocol, decorum, committees, or any other excuses our Congressmen may use for not speaking up and stopping our President, Supreme Court, and fellow Congressmen from violating the Constitution.  I’ll bet that any one of them would yell “fire” if the Congressional chambers were blazing.   The very foundation of America is going up in flames.   We are being spied on by our government, told what kind of automobile to drive, Conservatives are harassed and persecuted by the IRS, our borders are unprotected, the Administration is endeavoring to disarm us, our healthcare system has been apprehended and ruined, we have massive unemployment, our Attorney General is openly corrupt; what will it take to cause We the People to stand together and say No More?

If your Congressman and Senators are among those who are selling America out, then vote him/her out and vote in a true Constitutional Conservative.

Wake up, America! The freedom we have enjoyed for generations does not secure our liberty in the future.
