The Ban Bossy Campaign: #JustGetOverYourself!

Okay women, let’s ban the word bossy. Here you go:

I really wasn’t going to bother with this pathetic ad campaign and didn’t want to draw attention to it. But I began to realize that if we as women, who don’t define ourselves as feminists, don’t begin to push back against this ego-centric philosophy then our voices will be overshadowed.

IckThe key phrase in this video is, “listen to your own voice” said by Anna Maria Chavez, the CEO of Girl Scouts USA. Really? Why don’t we send the message to women and young girls to look beyond themselves and use our gifts and talents for the sake of helping others? Isn’t that what makes a leader? Isn’t that what mothers, teachers, and women of many different leadership professions do all over this country every single day?

Who cares what names you have been called throughout the years to become who you are? Look beyond yourself for a change and ban selfishness. After all, it’s a very big world and it doesn’t revolve around you!
