The President’s State of the Union Address: Coup d’ Congress
As we near the hour of the President’ State of the Union address, the President’s men have left no doubt as to what is ahead.
Jay Carney, in making the rounds on the punditry circuit, laid the groundwork for the President‘s upcoming coup d’ Congress. In speaking on ABC’s “This Week Sunday” Carney stated, “…the president sees this as a year of action to work with Congress where he can and to bypass Congress where necessary…”
A retooling of, “If Congress refuses to act, I’ve said that I’ll continue to do everything in my power to act without them,” is in the works, set to be ready by Tuesday at 9 PM Eastern/7 PM Central. At present, White House staffers are feverishly crafting the President’s message into the acrimonious slogan “We Can‘t Wait!”
“We Can’t Wait!” to enact executive orders to level the economic playing field.
“We Can’t Wait!” to act bilaterally with Ali Khamenei and the Iranian regime.
“We Can’t Wait!” to radicalize the judiciary with recess appointments and strip away constitutional authority.
The President is set to take his case to the American people; his case to move the United States in a post-nation direction towards autocracy. While putting the legislature and his opponents between the coasts on notice, President Obama is going assert his executive authority, acting unilaterally, riding roughshod over our tripartite system of government – all the while making it sound magnificent and soothing.
Mr. Obama, gambling on the odds that Americans will have forgotten their sixth grade civics lessons, hopes to generate consensus among the electorate to usurp the separation of powers – the very branches that defend against the likes of an cunning miscreants who believe their own press despite poll numbers.
In his quest to take United States post-nation, he speaks of bypassing Congress and proposes aggressive measures to cure what he sees is an ailing America. Perhaps his bleeding heart needs a coagulant.
If President Obama intends to insert his executive pen into the chest cavity of the nation, putting the country on a heart lung machine until it‘s recreated in his own image, I say he needs to take his ball, go and seek refuge on 53rd Street in Hyde Park. He may very well have a God complex, but he is no Surgeon General.
Be on alert Tuesday and get wise to the upcoming breach of executive authority dressed up as altruism. Stomach it if you can but it’s time to leave the state of the nation to the Republic for which it stands.
