Is It Time For South Carolina To (Finally) Fire Lindsey Graham?

There he goes again—Senator Lindsey Graham(R) appears to have thrown his fellow South Carolina residents (and the rest of the American people) right into the center of the Obamacare train wreck. According to the South Carolina Tea Party Coalition, “Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) called on House Budget Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) to work with House Speaker John Boehner to pass a grand bargain deal that would end the government shutdown, raise the debt ceiling, and protect Obamacare by not delaying or defunding it.”
Easy for him to say when he has been exempted from this atrocious healthcare law.
Many of Lindsey Graham’s recent actions are leaving many South Carolina residents furious and also wondering if Graham is actually a Democrat hiding behind a Republican title. The South Carolina Conservative recently reported:
The anti-Graham sentiment seems to have been greatly fueled by Graham’s recent vote in favor of cloture on the CR allowing Harry Reid to abuse his power and only allow his own amendment which placed Obamacare funding back into the bill after it had been stripped out in the House. Though Graham later voted against the actual CR, by voting for cloture, many consider it as being nothing more than a de-facto vote in favor of Obamacare funding since the cloture vote in essence assured the bill’s passage with full Obamacare funding.
Graham then proceeded to circulate a fundraising email in which he boasted about having fought against Obamacare funding, something many Republicans called an outright lie through social media and the blogosphere.
Graham’s chicanery hasn’t gone unnoticed by South Carolinians. In fact, several counties have already voted to officially censor him. According to The South Carolina Conservative:
Joining a growing list of counties to officially censure Senator Graham, the Greenville County GOP Executive Committee recently passed a censure resolution citing 29 points where Graham is said to have strayed from or violated the GOP platform, or actually aligned himself with the democrat agenda.
At least five other counties including Lancaster, Newberry, and Beaufort are said to be considering censuring Graham as well.
Nolan Chart writes that Lindsey Graham “epitomizes the ‘insider’ class” in Washington, D.C, something that “most Americans are pretty sick and tired of” in D.C. these days. Chart also offers this observation of Graham:
Senator Lindsey Graham has a southern accent, but that’s about all there is in common between him and the people of South Carolina!
His most recent support for amnesty and a 1200 page bill to do it, demonstrates his “insider mentality,” despite the reservation of most Americans, and most South Carolinians to the bill Graham is a co-sponsor of.
There is fertile ground in South Carolina for removal of Graham. South Carolina is a Conservative state, and Obama’s drenching of America in Liberal ideology, Liberal debt, and attacks on the Church and America’s history and heritage could very easily ignite an undercurrent of resentment throughout America in this off year election.
So, all eyes will be on South Carolina in the upcoming primaries. Will this state finally unseat one of Washington’s notorious “insiders”?
