So now the Democrats are changing their tune about this nightmare that is Obamacare. The stark realization that this thing is imploding right before their eyes has got more than a few Red State Dems up for re-election in 2014 looking for a way to save their cushy jobs.
Joe Manchin (W.Va) is asking for a one year delay for the individual mandate. Gee…how convenient; that takes us past the 2014 mid-terms. Mark Begich (D-Alaska), Mary Landrieu (D-La), Mark Pryor (D-Ak) and Kay Hagen (D-NC) are all in tough fights to win re-election in their states, so they will do anything to look good in the eyes of their constituents.
Have they no shame? I mean, really. There are 10 Dem Senators who are now adamantly vocal about delaying this law. Where were they just one month ago? If they had just voted with the GOP to delay this and re-open the government this Obamacare disaster would never have been exposed; at least for another year.
So I’m thinking maybe the hard lined stubbornness of Obama and Harry Reid in “not negotiating with the Tea Party terrorists and anarchists” has come back to bite them in the proverbial a**. Had they agreed to a delay of one year, this massive train wreck of a rollout would have gone undiscovered. They could have worked on it in secret without the American people knowing what was in store and maybe, just maybe, this thing could have limped its way down the road.
That didn’t happen, and now the American people have been slapped right in the face with what Obamacare really is. The lies have been exposed, the sticker shock is undeniable and people are really getting angry. Even the lamestream media is turning on his majesty for once.
Now that the Republicans have dodged a bullet, even though they didn’t realize it at the time; they need to re-think this whole strategy. They need to let this train continue to de-rail. Let it crash and burn and let the American people see that Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and Rand Paul were right all along. Let the Democrats beg for a delay to “fix” this thing, but don’t go along with it.
I say, let’s play hardball. You Dems wanted this? You rolled it out without testing it? It failed? Well, tough; you made your bed…now lie in it. Just think what ammunition the GOP has for fundraising and campaign events. Not one Republican voted for this monstrosity, it was pushed through with only Democrat support. Practically every Republican shouted over and over about what a disaster this would be; warning the American people since the day it was ruled Constitutional by the Supreme Court. Even after the 2012 elections, the sequester and this current budget crisis, the Republicans did everything in their power to try and stop this, trying to defund it and delay it.
The stubborn, arrogant Democrats along with Obama forged ahead, demonizing the House GOP and Senate members who sounded the alarm. Well, I say, let them own it.
Somewhere deep down I feel sad about saying this. I wish we had a government that worked together and listened to common sense instead of everything being a political maneuver. Having said that though, I am fed up with being called a “racist, terrorist, homophobe, anarchist, tea-bagger” just because I stand for freedom, liberty, the 2nd Amendment and smaller government. With the attacks against patriots like the American people, Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin, Rand Paul, Mike Lee, and Tea Party members, the Dems have crossed the line in the sand.
So members of the GOP, don’t help the Democrats “fix” Obamacare by allowing them a delay. Let it implode and crumble and wind up on the ash heap of time as another dramatic Democrat failure.
