Blending In: Are Muslims Adopting Libertarianism in America?

The American Muslim Political Action Committee or AMPAC website has announced the itinerary of their “Rally Against Fear”, which was originally slated to be the Million Muslim March. The reasons for this march are to “tell our Government leaders we want transparency and policies of peace.” Going on to read more, one can see the Libertarianism that American Muslims have adopted as a way to claim their Constitutional rights, which is afforded all Americans, yet many times their Ideology infringe upon many other’s rights of Speech and religion. A few terms used in the website’s information about this march stood out in my mind, but reading the following paragraph seemed to be taken right out of a Ron Paul list of talking points:
“Speaking will be experts and individuals on the lack of transparency and questions plaguing 9/11, steady erosion of domestic civil liberties, drone policy and the very dire effect of these on of plight of American Muslims here at home, and Muslim communities globally in the scope of U.S. imperialism, and the modern face of resistance to unmanned aerial surveillance and warfare.”
Among those scheduled to speak are 9/11 Truthers Greg Boyd and Richard Gage, and Dan Johnson, founder of People against NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) (PANDA).
Others are scheduled to speak, such as Imam Mahdi Bray – Executive Director, MAS Freedom, an interesting character who’s Muslim American Society was founded in part by Mohammed Mahdi Akef. For those who don’t know who Akef is, he was The Muslim Brotherhood’s former supreme guide, who was arrested in Egypt last month along with others and is being held in Tora Prison just outside of Cairo, on charges of inciting violence and disturbing general security and peace. He is also known for denying the existence of Al Qaida and denies the Holocaust. MAS denies that it’s organization was founded by the Brotherhood, however Federal Prosecutors in 2008 that “MAS was founded as the overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America.” And it’s been reported that in recent years the Brotherhood in America operated under the MAS name.
Mahdi Bray, the Exec. Director is a three time convicted felon who supports Hamas and Hezbollah, has spoken at rallies against “Israeli occupation” in Gaza. It’s interesting that he’d be speaking at a rally against fear on the Anniversary of 9/11 when I remember seeing Arabs in Israel and Gaza celebrating the terrorist attacks on the US.
One of the organizers of the march, Isa Hodge, the Chief of Operation MAMAF (AMPAC) believes that Sharia law is found in the Constitution.
The AMPAC Facebook page claims they “are planning an historic event for 9.11.13 where one million Muslims will march to Washington D.C. and demand that our civil rights be protected by our government. We are demanding that laws be enacted protecting our 1st amendment. We are asking President Obama to fulfill his promise from his first campaign for Presidency of a transparent government. Lastly we are asking for the release of the 9/11 commission report to the American people.”
I may be dense sometimes, but I’ve read the 9/11 commission report which has been available for years now.
MD Rabbi Alam is another organizer and Founder of AMPAC. He is also another 9/11 truther, was reportedly to have speculated last year about Jewish involvement in the September 11th terrorist attacks and participated in an event with a Muslim cleric who accused Israel of terrorism and claimed that the U.S. invented HIV the disease which causes AIDS.
One last part on the AMPAC website for the march claims, “It is time to speak out and reject the destruction of the Constitution of the United States of America. The neocons were able to shred the Constitution because they succeeded, temporarily at least, in making us afraid of each other. But there is nothing to fear. Terrorism is not a statistically significant threat.”
That is such a small paragraph to be so loaded. Those who are participating in speaking and/or organizing this march are made up of truthers, democrats, libertarians and muslim groups with ties to many jihadist movements. One of the things these groups have in common seem to center on blaming someone else for the 9/11 attack which killed over 2,000 Americans. Whether they blame our government or Jews, they divert the attention away from the ‘alluh akbar’ screaming muslims who brought down those planes. They also seem to blame America first, for so called imperialism and waging war against Islam.
The word they use in the above paragraph which stood out was neocon. I have heard that word thrown around for years by libertarians and leftists. The term neocon is a tricky one, because so many people seem to not know where the term came from yet they use it often, mostly to label Conservatives whom they believe are “war hawks”.
There is so much wrong with this event especially having it held on the Anniversary of 9/11. For truthers, holocaust deniers, democrats, anti-war protestors (who only seem to have a problem with America’s involvement, but never Islamic involvement) and anti-Israel anti Semitics this is just another open air convention to blame anyone and everyone but those who brought terrorism to the US and have perpetrated acts all over the world.
To say there is not a significant threat due to Islamic terrorism is an incomprehensible lie as there have been well documented cases for decades. You can read this which is a list of attacks in America since the 1970s, or this list just for the first half of 2013.
Like the Muslim Brotherhood Mohammed Mahdi Akef who helped found MAS, those who are the founders and directors for AMPAC, also claim that “Al-Qaeda is a joke,” and “so is the whole war on terror.”
While these organizers use such terms such as civil liberties, freedoms and rights, in the same sentence they paint those who speak against and disagree with Islam as Islamophobic, hateful and bigoted. They claim to want nothing more than their Constitutional rights, but they already have their rights. In many communities around the States Islam is dominant. Muslims vote, run for public office, have the rights to speak publically as they have and will on September 11. They have their own places of worship; they have their ideology taught in public schools, they have Sharia granted to them by allowing full coverings, halal foods, time off for daily prayer, are given prayer rooms and foot baths at many public places and at schools, in US courts, and they work in our government.
What Muslim nation would afford all of those same rights and more to a non-Muslim; absolutely none. Only in America can anyone no matter their religious or ideological beliefs can have the freedoms already granted. It is only Sharia states which others are not afforded rights which is further proof that Sharia and the Constitution Bill of Rights have absolutely nothing in common.
