Benghazi Still Unanswered One Year Later

“Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pains to bring it to light.” George Washington
“The United States government had absolutely nothing to do with this video. We absolutely reject its content and message.” Hillary Clinton in a commercial aired in Pakistan Sept. 21, 2012
“If four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal. We’re going to fix it.” Obama on the Jon Stewart Show, October 18, 2012
Just as I remember so clearly where I was and what I was doing on September 11, 2001 when Islamic terrorists attacked America, I remember everything about the night of September 11, 2012, when 4 Americans were brutally murdered in an attack by Islamic terrorists in Benghazi, Libya.
I’m only one out of hundreds of better qualified people who have been trying to get to the truth about the events leading up to, and during the attack as well the cover ups during this past year. So many others have done incredible work searching for answers to so many questions and speculations, but in a sense, I have lived this past year for the purpose of keeping the memories of those 4 who died alive and the Benghazi attack in people’s thoughts. And now, to not let people forget that still, one year later, no answers have been forthcoming from the Obama administration.
It has been a painful experience to see such ignorance and lack of concern by so many Americans, and by our Congress who have yet to form a select committee to investigate Benghazi and find answers for the families and for all Americans. The families deserve so much more than what they’ve received from this administration and our leaders.
I wonder what I can say now, after spending a year investigating news sources, writing articles, producing videos, developing timelines, watching hearings that led nowhere, what can I say now that could finally wake people up to where they will demand answers from this administration?
Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty are names almost as familiar to me as if they were members of my own family. These men are dead. They were left alone to fight hundreds of terrorists and our government watched them die. Instead of sending help and a C-130 Spectre gunship which was ready to go, they sent a drone armed with nothing but a camera.
Too many questions remain unanswered on this one year anniversary, including why did Obama not authorize a CBO? Why was the attack blacked out at a major military operations center as it was happening? Who gave the stand down orders? Why was a drone sent but not a C-130 which was sitting ready on a Tripoli runway? Why, when it was known nearly a year previous that Al Qaida was training in the area were no extra security measures taken, especially when they were requested over and over again by Ambassador Stevens and others? Where are the witnesses and why have they been gagged?
Many people this past year have worked hard to petition Congress and the Senate to form a select committee with subpoena powers which would allow witnesses to testify without fear of retaliation. OPSEC Team has been writing, investigating and trying to get Congress to sign on and demanding John Boehner to form Rep. Frank Wolf’s HR 36 since the beginning of the year. Special Operations Speaks sent a petition to Washington in November 2012 with over 100,000 signatures to demand a select committee and in July of this year, they met on the steps of the Capital and unrolled a 60 foot scroll signed by over one thousand special forces veterans demanding a vote for Rep. Wolf’s bill . Charles Woods, Tyrone Woods’ father has asked for a select committee. The American public has been demanding a select committee. Twitter is trending every day with #JusticeforBenghazi4 messages demanding answers.
On this first year anniversary of the terrorist attack in Benghazi, this author is saying once again, John Boehner, to do Your Duty and fulfill the will of We the People and form a select committee now.
On this day, millions will be remembering the horrific events of the day 3 planes were flown into buildings in New York and Washington DC and a 4th which crashed into a Pennsylvania field. We’ll be remembering the heroics of so many first responders, and the continued efforts to find survivors, then bodies days and weeks after.
Not as many will be remembering 4 men who were murdered 11 years later by the same groups who helped orchestrate that deadly day in 2001. The Woods, Doherty, Stevens and Smith families certainly will have them heavy in their hearts and thoughts along with the lingering question, when will they be finally told the truth? Isn’t it about time they were given answers?
