I serve quietly, not seeking recognition or accolades… ~ from the US Army Special Forces Creed

To know what is right and not do it is the worst cowardice.  ~Confucius

One thing I find amazing about the Left is the way they award each other for what they see as admirable work, yet those who do truly honorable, many times heroic deeds are ignored completely.  One example I can think of is when Al Gore won the Nobel Prize a few years ago for his so-called work on carbon credits. Here’s a guy who uses more energy lighting his house in one month than I do in a year, who has created a system where people pay money to buy what he’s claimed as carbon credits, so they can continue to fly their private jets and drive their SUV’s while travelling the world to preach to others about conserving energy–and guess who profits from these? Yes, Al Gore. Yet he won a Nobel Prize.  More interesting is the woman who was also a candidate that year.  After being passed over for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 in favor of Gore, Irena Sendler died May 13, 2008. She was 98 years old.

During WWII, Irena, worked in the Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. Irena smuggled Jewish infants out in the bottom of the toolbox she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack for larger kids. She also had a dog in the back that was trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the infants’ cries. She and others were able to smuggle out and save 2,500 kids/infants before she was caught by the Nazis. You can read her story here. This is someone who made an incredible heroic and admirable difference in the world, yet those who now give the Nobel Prize decided to award a hypocrite instead whose sole contribution has been to make millions on questionable science.

Then there was again, the Nobel Peace Prize, this time given to Obama.  He won it in 2009, supposedly “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples”.

Well we know how that’s worked out.  Not only has he helped add fuel race tensions in this country, he has had more boots on the ground around the middle east and north African nations than G.W. Bush did, he has added to the violence in Egypt by propping up the Muslim Brotherhood, and in Syria by arming and aiding rebel terrorists bent on bringing down the Assad regime.  Hosni Mubarak and Bashar al-Assad are not good men, but at least under their rule, most Christians and other minority groups were relatively safe from violence. Not so anymore.

And then there is Fast and Furious and Benghazi among numerous scandals for which Obama has not shown any signs of being worthy of what was once an honorable award.

Speaking of Benghazi, just how incredible must it be to the families of 4 dead Americans that Victoria Nuland and Susan Rice, both of whom covered up and lied about the attack, repeatedly blaming it on a video have both been promoted?  In Nuland’s case, changing e-mail talking points and covering up the Al Qaida connection and, in Rice’s case, going on the Sunday Morning show circuit and purposely misleading by blaming the violent attack on the video, knowing that it was a terrorist attack.

For over 7 months, Washington knew of deteriorating security conditions in Libya, yet did nothing.  For weeks after the attack the Obama administration, including Nuland, Rice and then Sec. of State Clinton, and most news outlets continued to blame the murders on outrage over a movie, when they knew terrorist threats were a serious concern and that the September 11 attack was the work of terrorists.

Victoria Nuland was promoted to assistant secretary for European and Eurasian affairs, and Susan Rice was promoted to White House national security adviser.  Interesting that Gregory Hicks, former U.S. deputy chief of mission in Libya and one of the whistle blowers who testified before the House Oversight Committee revealed that he’d been demoted, saying “Foreign-affairs officer is a designation that is given to our civil service colleagues who are desk officers.  So I’ve been effectively demoted from deputy chief of mission to desk officer.” Of course the State Department denied the charge.

Now we come to Hillary Clinton who is about to be awarded The American Patriot Award by the National Defense University Foundation. The American Patriot Award “recognizes men and women of extraordinary caliber whose leadership has strengthened our nation’s strategic interests and advanced global security.”  Excuse me, but Hillary “What difference does it make” Clinton being honored for leadership in anything but personal promotion is disgusting and dishonors those who truly serve tirelessly for global security.

The woman lied, when on September 12, the day after the attack she said, “We are working to determine the precise motivations and methods of those who carried out this assault. Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior, along with the protest that took place at our embassy in Cairo yesterday, as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet. America’s commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear: There is no justification for this; none.”

Hillary Clinton lied along with Obama when they paid taxpayer money for a commercial that aired in Pakistan to blame a video for Benghazi. Hillary Clinton lied in the face of Charles Woods’, the father of murdered former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods, when she told him she would make sure that the filmmaker behind the “Innocence of Muslims” online video would be “arrested” and “prosecuted.” Hillary, who ran the State Department, knew of terrorist training camps in the area and yet she ignored repeated requests by Ambassador Stevens’ for extra security, and she also may have lied during her testimony before Congress—and yet she is being awarded for extraordinary caliber.

It’s aggravating to see people who have displayed arrogance and have highly questionable character being rewarded and awarded, while real heroes walk the walk every day, quietly, never seeking recognition, for to them, they are just doing their job.  I’m talking about those who serve in uniform now so selflessly and those who have served in the past, who still say they would gladly do it again if given the chance.   I know they would not expect an award for doing their jobs, because that’s who they are.
