How Did Your Senator Vote on Immigration Bill?

Immigration.JPEG-0752eSenators’ positions on the recently passed Senate Immigration Bill are exposing the Washington D.C. permanent political class from the true public servants. We must not forget their votes on this issue when it comes time for these Senators to ask for your support in money, volunteering and votes in each one’s next election. Remember that these Senators have undermined America’s citizens. Make no mistake, this bill is not about the legal immigrants who we welcome and celebrate, but this bill is about self-promoting politicians and special interests.

Upon looking at the vote record for passage of this bill, we see that 14 republicans joined every Senate democrat in passing the Senate Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill, which Organizing for Action touts as a success of the Obama administration in a recent fundraising plea. See the fundraising email below:

UntitledThe question now is what comes next. As Senator Ted Cruz warned in a speech on the Senate floor, this bill will likely be used against republicans in the coming 2014 & 2016 elections. And when it comes to those Establishment Republicans who voted for this amnesty bill, a call goes out to those non-establishment conservatives to rise to the occasion and offer up a conservative alternative against each Senator who refused to act in the best interest of the American people and legal immigrants.

Senator Cruz spoke in the same address on the floor of the Senate, of the political motivations behind the push for this bill. Also that passage in the Senate would likely lead to republicans being blamed for not passing the bill in the House and being uncompassionate and anti-immigration altogether. In addition, Cruz referred to the fact that this bill was formed between the Gang of 8 and unions and special interests in back room deals that have nothing to do with compassion for immigrants seeking to achieve the American success story through hard work and determination. Rather, this undercuts all of those hard working immigrants who patiently and respectfully sought citizenship with true desire to become Americans. The fact is that it’s not the immigrants who are being considered, but rather the personal interests of the Washington DC permanent political class.
