Common Core — Racial Standards

SM718Recently rumors have been swirling about a controversial new program in Alabama regarding education.  Alabama will be joining Virginia, Alaska and Florida who already have similar programs.

As if Common Core’s fed led ed wasn’t enough, it has been reported that part of the new Common Core standards adopted Alabama will also have a “state-led” program called Plan 2020.

“Alabama public schools will be under a new state-created academic accountability system that sets different goals for students in math and reading based on their race, economic status, ability to speak English and disabilities,” and “sets a different standard for students in each of several subgroups — American Indian, Asian/Pacific Islander, black, English language learners, Hispanic, multi-race, poverty, special education and white,” the Tuscaloosa News reports.

This plan is supposed to replace the much hated Bush program called No Child Left Behind and close that gap between poor minority students and their wealthier counterparts.

How are they going to close this gap? The answer is very plain and simple. They are starting with very low standards for minority children. If you are African American or Hispanic or a multitude of other races, you are not expected to do as well as a white child, therefore, the standards you are held to must be a lot lower.

After all, a minority child who has no money is obviously not as smart as a white child who has no money. White people are smarter than any other race! Just ask Hitler.

Plan 2020 very clearly says: If you are a minority you are stupid. If you are poor you are stupid. If you are a poor minority, let us help you by lowering the bar. We don’t expect you to do any better.

I recall a quote that George W. Bush once said something about, “the soft bigotry of low expectations.” Plan 2020’s expectations are the obvious realization of that quote.

Of course, No Child Left Behind program, signed into law by George W. Bush, set standards that were hated by most and did divide students into racial and economic subgroups but each child, regardless of their color or economic standing were required to meet the same standards.

Here are what the percentage numbers are for each subgroup of 3rd grade children to pass math in 2013, according to Plan 2020:

93.6 percent of Asian/Pacific Islander students.

 91.5 percent of white students.

90.3 percent of American Indian students.

 89.4 percent of multiracial students.

 85.5 percent of Hispanic students.

82.6 percent of students in poverty.

79.6 percent of English language-learner students.

 79 percent of black students.

61.7 percent of special needs students.

Stunning, isn’t it? There it is in black and white (no pun intended), rating the abilities of certain races to pass standardized tests.  Children who are black are less intelligent and less able to pass a test than a student who doesn’t even know the English language.

Plan 2020 is supposed to start students off at the level they are performing at and set annual goals for them to meet, thus improving those percentages.

And at the end of the day, nowhere does it say that these minority students will be assessed at the same level of the white children, ever.

Racism is never going to go away at the rate our leaders are going. No, racism is alive and well in America and not so much where you might expect it to be. Not so much with the average American. It’s alive and well with our dear leaders and our policy makers and it filters down through the government controlled education system onto the next generation.

We are all human and all human beings are created with the level of intelligence they are supposed to have. There are brilliant African Americans and there are dumb as dirt White people and the other way around. What do you suppose a test looks like for bi-racial students? Students with more than two ethnicities are probably a real conundrum.

Once again I must point out that the government is dividing us. The government wants to keep us arguing with each other and keep minorities down so that they will be dependent on the government programs that said government created specifically for them and have failed them miserably.

These standards are a way of fostering that racial divide and, in effect, demonstrating that “social justice” that some guilty white teachers are so bent on teaching to the children of the next generation.

What a great way to keep people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson feeding at the racially divisive trough.  And it’s provided by our very own government.

It’s time to kick the government programs, like Common Core that is meant for all of our children, out of school. Take back control and quit the bigotry of these “race based standards.”
