As Poverty Levels Soar Obama Plans Another Vacation!
The disconnect in Washington has got us once again shaking our heads in disbelief. The latest U.S. poverty statistics have just come out and it is looking worse and worse for the American people. That however doesn’t stop the Obamas from taking their monthly multi-million dollar vacation. For the fourth time, they will be rubbing elbows with their “elite” donors and friends in FAAbulous Martha’s Vineyard.
Obviously the news of America’s decline doesn’t seem to faze Obama who started 2013 off with a vacation in Hawaii for nine days. According to reports, the Obamas Hawaiian trips since 2009 have cost over $20 million dollars! This latest Hawaiian trip in 2013 came right after a very difficult holiday season hosting numerous Christmas parties and soirees for the likes of Beyonce and Jay Z at huge taxpayer expense.
For President’s Day, (in February), the Obamas took separate trips. Michelle spent the holiday in Aspen, skiing, while Barack flew to Florida for a golf outing. (How many is it by now? 22 rounds this year alone, 133 for his presidency.) The girls were also vacationing in the Bahamas for Spring Break.
Instead of “focusing like a laser on the economy”, Obama ran from the scandals that were sinking his approval ratings like a rock. In June, he took the family and legions of others to Africa for a diplomatic trip. I guess he needed to get his mind off of Benghazi. Right; we all buy that one don’t we? That little jaunt only cost us around $100 million dollars and Americans were still not able to go on a White House tour!
Now, they are off for their August summer respite in Martha’s Vineyard. It looks to be as FAAbulous as ever with the island going all out. Rumor has it that C’est La Vie will be designing a new T-shirt marking his return. Sharky’s Cantina will be serving it’s Obamarita along with its Barack-O-taco and Barack-guac. Sadly, he won’t be staying in the lavish digs he had before, the place was sold to a European couple and is unavailable, so the Obamas will have to do with a similar lavish farm and adjust accordingly.
All of this is thrown in America’s face at a time when unemployment rates are hovering above 7.5%, there are more people on food stamps than ever before, gas prices are taking food off the table of poor families who face the decision of whether to eat or drive to work, and Detroit has declared bankruptcy.
According to the Census Bureau report, 50 million Americans are living below the poverty line in Obamas economy. That is one in 6 people. Obamas average GDP growth is an anemic less than 2% per quarter. His failed policies have driven Americans deeper and deeper into dependency and despair.
Does the father of four living in the Midwest who works long hours get to take his kids on a summer vacation this year? I highly doubt it. Does the working mom who comes home from a tough day job to help her kids with their homework and make dinner get to look forward to jetting off to the Hamptons this summer? Not on your life. And how about the people fighting foreclosure, losing their homes and savings because the President doesn’t address the issue of jobs and the economy? Can they just ignore their situation and get their mind off of it? What do you think?
Obama is focused on the wrong issues. While sitting on the beach enjoying a Obamarita, he should forget about global warming, immigration reform and gun control. Instead, he should “focus like a laser” on those jobs and opportunities for despondent Americans and figure a way to bring back the American dream.
But alas….”it’s good to be the King” isn’t it?
