America Goes to Washington (for the “Audit the IRS” rally)!
Washington D.C. sure has created quite the habit of invading the lives of Americans in every possible way lately. Our out-of-control government has had its intrusive tentacles reaching into: our pocketbooks, our businesses, our religious freedoms, our healthcare, our children’s education, our freedom of speech, our cellphones, our Face Book pages and even our twitter accounts. What’s even worse is that—government officials have become so arrogant that they are not even shy about it these days!
While the Washington elitists try to tell us that it (government intrusion) is all for our own good, we know what it’s really about—TOTAL CONTROL over us.
Like me, many other Americans have had enough of our bloated government invading our homes, trying to run our lives– from the foods we eat to every single word we speak. Heaven forbid someone remind us of our Constitutional rights– for they may very well end up on President Obama’s enemy list.
This is America, where our Founding Fathers sacrificed everything so that you and I can enjoy the freedom to make our own life choices, and to have the freedom to enjoy (or suffer) the consequences. Unfortunately, the Obama administration is doing everything in its power to take these freedoms away from us.
So, it is time for Americans to start piling into their vehicles and invading Washington for a change. That’s exactly what many Patriots did for the “Audit the IRS” rally on Wednesday, June 19th. I’m not sure about the exact number, but according to Breitbart,
“The rally may have drawn a bigger crowd than Obama’s speech did in Berlin.”
One unofficial estimate put the crowd size at 7,000 to 10,000 at its peak.
While the Obama administration now finds itself in the midst of several scandals, the IRS scandal really struck a nerve with most Americans. The IRS, already the most-feared government agency in the U.S., had been exposed for targeting Tea Party, Conservative, Pro-Israel, and Christian organizations. Not only did they withhold these groups’ requests for their tax-exempt status, they demanded information from them that went beyond the imagination.
Myrtle Beach Tea Party Chairman, Joe Dugan (in picture below) was one of the speakers at the “Audit the IRS” rally on Wednesday. In my interview with him, he stated:
“Our group filed for our tax-exempt status over three years ago and we still haven’t received it. And while many groups have finally gotten theirs, the IRS wanted to know personal information such as: who their members were, what politicians they were affiliated with, and how much money they anticipated to raise.”
The IRS even wanted to know the content of prayers from certain Christian groups.
Myrtle Beach Tea Party Coordinator, Gerri McDaniel (in picture below) attended the recent Congressional hearings on the IRS’s scrutiny of Conservative groups. She told me,
“The IRS has the power to destroy anybody they want anytime they want. That is so scary.”
At the rally, National Coordinator for the Tea Party Patriots, Jenny Beth Martin, reminded the crowd, “We have a tax code that is 73,000 pages long and that Obamacare was 2,000 pages and it’s now 20,000 pages in regulations in just three years. Martin later exclaimed to the crowd, “This government is out of control! Thuggish, bullying, ganger-style government will NOT stand in America!”
The “Audit the IRS” rally included a spectacular lineup of amazing speakers. Several House representatives rallied the crowd, including: Michelle Bachmann (MN), Louie Gohmert (TX), Steve King (IA), John Fleming (LA), Tom Graves (GA), Tim Huelskamp (KS), Jim Jordan (OH), Mike Kelly (PA), Mike Lee (UT), Tom Price (GA), Mike Salmon (AZ), Jim Bridenstine (OK), Dave Camp (MI).
Senators Rand Paul (KY) and Ted Cruz (TX) along with popular Conservative radio/television personalities Glenn Beck and Dana Loesch delivered fiery speeches at the event. Several representatives from Tea Party and other Conservative groups and Conservative media organizations also addressed the crowd:

Overall, my “takeaway” from this event is the following:
- The Tea Party is STILL very much alive and kicking.
- NOW is the time to abolish the IRS and reform our tax code.
- Yes– our children and grandchildren ARE worth it.
- Keep the courage (just as our Founders did).
- It’s an honor to be on Obama’s enemy list.
- No matter who is sitting at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, God is STILL in charge of this great nation.
