Obama Gives U.S. Naval Academy “The Talk”: Don’t Rape Anybody!

obama speechThis past week the president had the talk with the graduating class of the United States Naval Academy.  Before the gathered class of 1,047 men and women, most of whom will be commissioned as officers in the US Navy, Marine Corps or Air Force, could commence with their traditional cover toss, they had to withstand one of President Obama’s lectures on sexual relations.

Obama had stern words for those in the sea of dress uniforms.  Those who are required to have Congressional nomination to be among those admitted to this prestigious institution whose alumni include over 50 U.S. astronauts (including six who flew to the Moon), over 990 noted scholars including 46 Rhodes Scholars and 24 Marshall Scholars, 1 President of the United States (Jimmy Carter), 2 Nobel Prize recipients and 73 Medal of Honor recipients, the President asserted that he has “no tolerance” for sexual assaults in the U.S. military.

I expect consequences.  So I don’t just want more speeches or awareness programs or training, but ultimately folks look the other way. If we find out somebody’s engaging in this, they’ve got to be held accountable – prosecuted, stripped of their positions, court martialed, fired, dishonorably discharged. Period.

This chastisement given to Midshipmen who are obliged to adhere to the US Naval Academy Honor Concept which has passed through the ages of the Academy starting from the institution’s inception in 1845.  The Honor Concept states:

Midshipmen are persons of integrity: We stand for that which is right.

We tell the truth and ensure that the full truth is known. We do not lie.

We embrace fairness in all actions. We ensure that work submitted as their own is their own, and that assistance received from any source is authorized and properly documented. We do not cheat.

We respect the property of others and ensure that others are able to benefit from the use of their own property. We do not steal. —Honor Concept, USNA Brigade Honor Program

To these midshipmen who partake in the Officer Development Program, a four-year integrated program, focused on integrity, honor, and mutual respect based on the moral values of respect for human dignity, respect for honesty and respect for the property of others, President Obama piled on by saying, “if we want to restore the trust the American people deserve to have in their institutions, then we all have to do our part.”

While President Obama unleashed his preemptive strike of chastisement on these men and women of honor, he has been conspicuously silent about Salafi Sheikh Yasir al-Ajlawni, Islamic cleric’s recent justification of rape in which he proclaimed that “it’s a legitimate fatwa for Muslims waging war as long as the women are not Sunni” and according to Human Events, “a preacher in Saudi Arabi, Muhammad al-Arifi, sent forth a fatwa a few months ago giving jihadi fighters the right to have intercourse marriage with Syrian women they caught, and for that act to take enough time to give each fighter a turn.”

Obama’s hesitancy to condemn the Occupy Movement’s encampment rapes in his own backyard precludes his ability to condemn the systematic brutalization of civilians and refugees at the hands of the Syrian army and rebels that he directly supports.

The Muslim extremists that he supports around the Arab world have a code too.  Theirs is a code of fatwa and rapist jihad against the non-Muslim world.  In a parallel universe President Obama bitterly clings to his disdain for Western aggression, which overrides Islamic reality.

As he commences his lecture on the tarnished image of the U.S. military, Obama ends by recommending they follow their “inner compass”, charging the graduating class of Midshipmen to resist their urges and not to rape anybody.

Glad we had this talk.  Now you can commence with your traditional cover toss…
