Like The Proverbial Snake, Al Jazeera says: Trust In Me
Qatar based Al Jazeera that purchased Current TV in January has revised plans and intends to replace the network with Al Jazeera America, allowing for multiple bureaus in cities such as Detroit. Something of interest: nearby Dearborn, Michigan has roughly 40,000 Arab Americans.
The network known for being a tool for terrorists to spew propaganda, claims they want to bring programming of domestic importance to Americans. Thus, making the home base of Al Jazeera, the United States, with all programs originating here. Al Jazeera America purports to offer mainstream news without the sensationalism of CNN or being opinion driven like Fox News. Even bringing in Ali Velshi, former money guru at CNN.
Ahem, not “opinion driven”???
The Arabic news channel, was well known a decade ago for airing Osama bin Laden’s I want to attack everybody but Jihadists video messages, loving memoirs of life with Osama, on how he arranged his two twelve year olds marriage and the 9/11 most likely was done by the CIA spiel. In just the past week, there has been an anti-Semitic commentary, and an opinion piece by Marwan Bishara, a Senior Policy Analyst at Al Jazeera, bashing Catholics and The Vatican. Well known is this network for a slew of biased newscasts against America, Israel and Britain; espousing hate and violence, and this is just the short list.
I suspect the reasoning for the “Americanization” of Al Jazeera is not an effort to appeal to uniquely American sensibilities, but rather a desire to appeal to those cable companies that have been reluctant to carry the channel. Al Jazeera unable to attract the mainstream, sneaked in when they bought Current TV.
Variety of opinion has always been an American staple, however Al Jazeera is not that champion. A better representation of Al Jazeera is the meeting ground where terrorism meets the media.
Al Jazeera America, really? More like Al Jazeera: Terrorism Light, now playing at a city near you. This is just a more concealed version of the same network we have all learned not to trust. What’s the saying? With friends like this…
Why do we need a homegrown version of a media that hates us?
