Lamborghini-Driving, Givenchy-Wearing Kanye West “Hates Consumerism”

Media hog Kanye West is at it again. The combative and misinformed rapper who was ever present at the Occupy movement, debuted his new song this past Friday. New Slaves, bi-passed a traditional debut, and opted to screen on the walls of 66 buildings across the globe.
The crowds cheered as the video streamed onto to the businesses, such as Prada  on 5th Ave in New York City. However, I doubt the masses gathered for the event realized that they were about to be called greedy racists by the mega millionaire entertainer.
Kanye West is no stranger to controversy, West said at the time of Hurricane Katrina, that “George Bush doesn’t care about black people“. Now he takes aim at all white people, claiming that a society of “new slaves” have arisen–from consumerism brought on by the white man. Also, espousing anger towards successful black Americans.
The video opens with a graphic that says “white front” and a series of retail price tags leading in to a close-up of West’s face. He starts by saying, “My mama was raised in an era when clean water was only served to the fairer skin”. This is clearly a reference to the 1966 riots that took place in the Hough community in Cleveland. A six night riot ensued over a business not allowing blacks to have water. The video, being debuted on 66 buildings, I believe is in reference to the year in which this took place.
West is obviously trying to incite worldwide violence by dredging up wrongs from the past, and creating new faux racial tensions that do not exist. There is no conspiracy to enslave African Americans with capitalism, an issue that West is stressing in the video. He also goes on to say there is a collusion between the Drug Enforcement Ageny and the CCA, a corrections management provider. This Kanye West believes is meant to keep people of color in prison.
I spoke to Jerome Hudson, a writer at Breitbart and Spokesman for Project 21. Mr. Hudson said:
“Racism does not make black men get caught for drugs…[West] is brilliant at playing the victim, instead of being constructive [he] keeps the narrative going that there is a racist at the heart of all white people, and blacks should not be held to a real standard of achievement. [West] is always looking backward”.
Hudson believes, as do I, that Kanye West has the right to say whatever he wants, but for someone with such a huge opportunity to do so much good, he instead alludes to race and an anti-capitalist stance. Jerome Hudson put it perfectly when he said, “Kanye West IS a corporation”.
Conservative Columnist and Author that broke the Obama/Jeremiah Wright story in 2007, Erik Rush had this to say:
“Kanye West is nothing if not consistent in his inconsistency. An archetype of the unthinking nouveau riche hypocrite, as a young black multimillionaire, he has no qualms about bemoaning the obstacles to success that face black Americans. In truth, the culture of mediocrity that he helps to perpetuate is the only real obstacle to that success. Of course, we must remember that this is the same man who was at the vanguard of those accusing President Bush of laxity in response to Hurricane Katrina in order to ensure the deaths of as many black people as possible.”
Now, with “New Slaves,” the self-described genius is enrolling lower-income, low-information blacks into resentment for wealthy blacks. The infinite hypocrisy (since he happens to be one) aside – what’s the point, except to foment hatred and class envy? It’s one thing to be a manifestly untalented, foul-mouthed, dull-normal hack, but the lack of responsibility and social conscience West displays with this offering – and which his record company apparently condones – is a new low for this culturally bankrupt industry.
Stacy Swimp, President of the Frederick Douglass Society noted that it is important for people to understand Kanye West’s mindset. “He is a product of inner city teachings, where capitalism is demonized and equated with colonialism–West is hurting black people. He needs to be liberated from his own form of slavery.” Â Swimp continued, “Socialism particularly hurts poor people who tend to be proportionately black”.
Lets get this straight: Kanye West is a very, very wealthy man with a Kardashian lifestyle. Never hops into his Lamborghini without his favorite Clive Christian No.1 cologne that sells for a whopping $2,350 a bottle, dates one of the biggest spenders on the planet, Kim Kardashian, whom he spent $65,000 on for jewelry and a lavish vacation to St. Lucia (which BTW could have supplied many families with weeks of food), has his own jewelry line, a sunglasses line, and on and on.
So Mr. Ant-Consumerism, Mr. I Hate Capitalism how ’bout you hock your diamond teeth, turn a couple of your businesses into a non profit, and donate that $750,000 Lamborghini to some needy people? Let me know how that works out for you.
Leave color of skin out of your latest publicity stunt. My parents were shot at in the Detroit riots and this is heinous for you to fan the flames of a tension that do not exist. I have had enough of your hate-filled rants.
